This is shadow of OXENFREE 1. If you were a hardcore NG+ need to break the loop and figure out what the hell is going on here fan then you will be disappointed.

This game improved a lot of quality of life features that were annoying but that about does it for the pros.

The cons?
Veeery little player input when comparing to the first game. In the first game you had the radio stations to dial in and listen to clues about the island, you had rocks scattered around the island to tune in to for extra spooky clues. Here you need the radio basically 3-4 times to perform an exorcism on someone and that's it.

No mysterious jump scares making you wonder what the hell is going on. I get that we are already familiar with the submarine and its crew but that doesn't mean there isn't room for even more mystery.

You play the entire game with Jacob and only Jacob, meeting the kids at various points before the run of again. Only character development is with him and it isn't even fleshed out properly. Don't know if i should feel sorry for him or give him a pat on the back.

The people on the walkie at first seem interesting only to find out they literally have no impact on the story and you never even see them.

And the ending. Only 1 possible outcome. O N E
I'm not talking about who is going to be sacrificed. I mean the fact that what ever happens Alex and her friends escape the loop, the portal closes and everyone has this cliche supernatural amnesia.
Literally nothing you do throughout the game has an impact on what will happen in the end. Doesn't matter if you talk to the old guy on the boat, doesn't matter if you talk to the island ranger to find out about the cult more. Doesn't matter if you pick up every letter in the game.

Countless times in the beginning there was some good mystery. Like when Reily talked to Evelyn after the portal had opened Evelyn said "Who is Reily", only to literally 3 minutes after that everything goes back to "normal" with Evelyn knowing everything and being present.

You get two scenes with Maggie Alder in which of them she seems like she is actually in the loop somehow, only for that not be the case and the scene is basically worthless.

In the first game you play as Alex as a confused and scared teenager trying to clean up a mess you made, you can feel the fear and uncertainty in both Alex and overall game atmosphere.
Now all of a sudden Alex is this omnipotent being that can see every possible future for everyone, and only she is the one to be able to do this and use it properly to reach Olivia, the crew members (all competent soldiers in their past life) over 50 years couldn't think of anything similar. And Alexs friends are also not important they are just there because they happened to be in the first game, oh and only they happen to get the cliche supernatural amnesia. I swear a 4 year old wrote the script here.
