It's an alright game but not for me.

I tried to like this game so much but it just isn't as fun as what came before. I enjoy some aspects of the game such as the story mode and the new characters, and especially the music but the game-play is too focused on being flashy and "fun" instead of being a good solid fighter.

- Comeback mechanics being doubled down on by taking what was a interesting choice between damage and survivability [rage art and drive] being turned into 2 mechanics that can be used simultaneously and if used right can do a total of half your health.
- Nerfed movement [sidesteps are fine] such as back-dashing and just attacking in general
- Constant whiffs due to the new side movement, you will just shoot off to the side even if both of you are attacking.
- Constant complaints about plugging not being addressed and instead a microtransaction shop takes priority
- Bugs like victors throws not being addressed for almost a whole month

I can go on and on about how this game has been handled to be fun to watch but not to play. There's some things I'd personally like [Such as being able to turn down effects] but I won't judge the game for not having things tailored to my needs.

I don't think this game is bad at its core, just unpolished in it's actual gameplay.

TF2. this game is far from perfect, and honestly, I don't think it ever will be. the game's broken and some classes can run in and hold the mouse button, and some group of players can get absolutely demolished by a crit. When I started this game I thought that it was the worst experience of gaming that I'd ever have, and this was my first experience in multiplayer games outside of the local split-screen of ps2 games I had when I was a kid. I died, and died, and died and every time I just felt horrible and blamed the game. I gave up tf2 for a bit but it kept nibbling at young old me's mind. Around the time of the robotic boogaloo update for some reason, I decided to install tf2 on my new computer back then and had my doubts. Within an hour I was hooked, everything just felt more fun because I loved every moment of what I was doing, I played with a team instead of just for myself and instead of dying and being useless to my team, my goal was just to just be able to take at least ONE guy down so I'm at least doing something! I was playing tf2 for a few weeks on only the quick play, but another friend of mine suggested going to community servers. I logged onto tf2, launched up the server browser, and I joined some random jailbreak server, I fell in love. Something was different, everything was in a sense and it was amazing. Everyone was so kind and I was surprised that nobody was trying to kill each other, except that one guy that decided to rush the warden with his bat thinking it'd be a good idea. This is what I'd wanted as a kid, funny moments and a kind environment.

Fast forward a year or two and I had a few hats, my first was a towering pillar of hats which I regrettably bought from the damn Mann co store. after a while, I learnt about trading and probably got myself a few all class hats and some class hats, but I didn't have much.

I launched MVM, played a decent bit of that after buying a few tickets. Around my 3rd tour of the two cities [with no luck], I found 2 friends which I valued a lot. I played MVM with them and tf2 itself just to hang out with them a lot, they were my first actual friends in the game and that lasted for a long time and I have TF2 to thank for it.

TF2 is an experience and I came for the game and stayed for the people. Every time I drop this game in a few months I'm back with it always in the back of my mind, this game is a masterpiece and so are the people that made it this way.
