I did not understand what was happening for almost the entirety of my run time. Although that was the case I was never frustrated or bored with this game. the puzzles and the environment are absolutely enough to get some enjoyment out of it.
but you will be missing out on one of the best stories in any sort of media. As you progress through the game the story element is only told through the environment, fragmented pieces of information through essays and QR codes.
The only methods the game allows to communicate to you directly are unreliable and conflicted. You may feel lost for long through the game, but the longer you stay the more you will get a sense of what is happening, If you want to fully comprehend it you have to play two runs.

TL;DR: Play this game

This is such a phenomenal experience. The story is beautifully written, the music is thoroughly engaging and the best thing in my opinion is the art style. The art feels nostalgic and very effective in portraying exactly the situation of the characters.
I was absolutely mesmerized by how great the first episode was, so I had to buy the season pass directly.

In short: An unusual experience. You should probably try it.
Lengthier review: The plot might throw off many players in its slice of life/laid back approach, but it never fails to interlace sequences(even with the very start of the game) with the hints of a more sinister undertone that might be present. And that is precisely why this game stuck with me, the unease and intrigue that i felt playing through what seemed like highschool students going through daily mundane experiences.
Other than that, the soundtrack is absolutely gorgeous and engaging. The animation while expressive is a bit lacking in some backdrops, and I thought the character models could've been more interesting. The interactive parts of this game serve their purpose to tell the story as best as possible, but in general are kept to a minimum. But in the end I think the whole experience is too unique to pass up on.

I cannot believe I'm witnessing a harvest moon-like experience on the PC. What is even more unbelievable is that this game is on-bar if not better than the Harvest Moon franchise standards. I highly recommend this to everyone who likes games in general, not only simulation games enthusiasts or even Harvest Moon fans. No, I believe everyone should play this game because the developers obviously put a lot of work into this, and it shows magnificently.
