2.3 Hours played
In Shelter, you assume the role of a parent badger guiding five baby badgers through the woods. Along the way you'll need to feed them and keep them safe from threats such as eagles, forestfires, and floods. As I played, I developed genuine concern for the welfare of my baby badgers and was distressed when I would lose one (or eventually four) to the dangers of the world. The game progresses linearly through five levels. Although some levels are large enough to allow for a little exploration, that still makes for a very short game. I finished in just over two hours, and I took my sweet time.

The controls are easy (WASD, Shift, mouse), the graphics are simple (polygons!) but nice looking, and the music contributes to the atmosphere without intruding on the badger simulation experience.

I received this a gift and although I quite like this game, I don't recommend paying full price ($10) for it, in part because of how short it is. But if you see it on sale, I would definitely recommend picking it and checking it out!
