Well worth the price

It's fun, it appeals to my hyper-masculine male fantasies, I love it. Please give me more, I am your target audience!

Greatest Total War game ever made, but has certainly aged. There are some QOL updates that would be nice, as especially in modded late games it can take a very long time to get through a turn. Regardless, this is also host to the greatest lord of the rings mod for any game I can think of. Last days of the third age + Divide and Conquer are absolute masterpieces. It even looks pretty good for being 18 years old.

Extremely buggy, wait a few months to buy.

You can shoot a guy 4 times and he won't die but you get stabbed by a stick one time and get infected, it's game over in like 3 turns. You don't even get time to heal and Joe's treatments don't work. It's not "hardcore," it's stupid. Also due to it's age and flashplayer engine, it's full of bugs. Don't move items after selling in the store menu because it counts as if they were purchased.

I have been playing this game since before there were even vehicles. It barely functions, there is lag where there shouldn't be, and it is full of annoying bugs. Instead of working more on performance or even just improving vehicle combat mechanics, they are adding micro-transaction emotes. Unless the game changes directions in development goals soon, I can not recommend it in good faith. Screw the soulless corporate aloofness that ruins game studios and screw Tencent.

Performance continues to drop with every update. The most recent infantry overhaul update, lauded as something that would "slow down the pace of combat" has, in fact, done so. By making the game drop in performance. Scopes also make you nauseous now.

Only playable because of mods. Devs are not very capable but have improved over time. Keep fire spread off. Also Add saving, I don't care about the dev's "vision" I just want to have fun playing a video game and not waste hours upon hours of my life.

I'd have rather bought a chik-fila sandwich meal with the 15 dollars used to purchase this game. Add a saving option please, I have neither the time nor patience to restart every time I die.

On closer inspection, I like the game enough to give it a thumbs up, but I still want saving.

Don't forget to buy the season pass if you want to play as Russia... or Germany... or any other faction that is locked behind an arbitrary pay wall by a greedy piece of garbage company. They produce interesting games, but my lord do they have terrible business practices. This game is not worth 100 dollars.

The most faithful video game adaptation of Tolkien's work, in my opinion. The world and landscapes are incredible.
