It’s only been day 1. But this is probably my favorite platform fighter ever. It really is the spiritual successor to Project M. I loved Rivals 1 but I think I prefer the more traditional combo game and defensive mechanics. But their take on them in this game are unique enough with their own strengths and weaknesses that make for a balanced game design with depth. Also the addition of special get up attacks ledge attacks, and pummels is so ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ sick.

All this game is missing is Yipes for a commentary voice option. Other than that yeah this game is an absolute 10/10 as a just a solid video game. As a fighting game I think my opinion will change as the game does but as of rn it's a blast having to learn what makes the meta tick at my pace.

Chipp Zanuff exists in this game so yeah that's a 20/10 from me chief.

my favorite game of all time

Gameplay is probably some of the most fun in Versus series history. The graphics are gross at worst and ok at best. If you bought this game to experience the story then I'm gonna point and laugh at you. The roster could be better but thankfully most of the cast was made with fun in mind so it's not the worst. But if you're rating this game based off the graphics and story mode then yeah it's gonna be bad lmao. But for the most part gameplay is the real meat of the genre of fighting games. The online is pretty dang good too which is more than what most modern fighting games offer.

I wasted 4 years of my life not playing this.
