I don't get much of the critique of this remaster. There are a lot of things that have been vastly improved compared to the original Steam version.

Pros
+ Auto Save
+ Included trainer (not much for me though except the "no random encounters" at times, i like to play legit and honestly the game is pretty easy anyway for the most part, like finishing the storyline)
+ More options
+ OST
+ Xbox controller support with actual prompts too
+ Improved models
+ Improved backgrounds (a bit better than the mod for the original version and without its bugs)

Cons
- FPS drops (rarely)
- No chocobo world idle game (but since you can get all items with the trainer it doesn't matter much, but of course it would be nice if it was included)
- The horrible 4 way movement is still there

I have played the original version for more than 300 hours and have killed most bosses and got the majority of game cards too. So i have some experience of that version and for the modern era it feels very lacking. This is funny since FF7 got better treatment even earlier (maybe cause it is more famous and popular, this is the underdog of later FFs after all).
