Better Quality in first week of early access than AAA Releases, for a price that is very fair.

Im dissapointed in the new player experience.
First of all I alwas wanted to get into fighting games. I also understand that those games are especially complex and fast pased. Therefore as a very beginner I started out with the tutorial missions.
Even in the very first tutorial missions I got really frustrated. Let me list a few examples:

- Double Jump
"evade the attack by Jumping and then use a jump in any direction" - well turns out even while the tutorial specifically list diagonal inputs you can only do a normal double jump. Since the timing to evade the attack is quite precice and at my first two tries I plunged directly into the attack I assumed that I should evade the attack by jumping sideways. I basically did multiple diagonal inputs in the air in it just didnt work. In the end the tutorial text was just wrong and the tutorial only allows for a straight upwards double jump

- General Input Timings
I generally had/have no Idea what certain symbols mean. A curved Arrow from Right to bottom, then straight right was confusing to me. I interpreted as right, down, right. I tried it out and failed over and over. Then I thought maybe its down, right, down instead, since from the symbol I couldn't really tell. Here I just had to input the buttons very fast (I used my d-pad on a controller, its way easier with the analoge stick). This misunderstanding is annoying. And I feel like an idiot trying out what seems to be easy instructions, there is so much guesswork.

- Basic Recommendations
I still do not know If Guilty Gear should be played with a keyboard, Controller (analoge stick) or Controller (D-Pad) and im sure there are people who can play with either of those controls. But for me I was unsure if my misinputs are just natural, a lack of talent, or if im using the "wrong" input device. The control I mentioned previously was easier to execute with an analoge stick, while inputting via analoge stick proofed to be very finicky when I tried to perform air dashes.

- Overall Experience
In my hour of testing I felt like doing an exam. I had no fun and it seemed to that I would need to invest another 5 hours just to get the basics down. Then I would have to memorize several input string and bite my tongue for every misinput in game. I just can't see the light at the end of the tunnel and wish that there is a breadcrumb of fun in the learning path that keeps me going. I refunded the game because im afraid of giving up half way, being frustrated for hours and have spend money for that experience.

Open World mal richtig.
Es gibt immer etwas zu entdecken. Ich bin nichtmal beim 2. Legacy Dungeon und mache mir nun schon gedanken mit welchem Build ich als nächstes Spiele und wie meine optimale Route durch die riesige Spielwelt aussehen würde.
11/10 - Bin ein riesiger Soulds Fan und wurde nicht enttäuscht!
