Well, what can I say... Dark Souls II is quite honestly in my own opinion one of the greatest games ever made. It's predecessor Dark Souls was equally as great (and I highly recommend playing that as well) and just as Silke has said in their review of this game, the combat is the thing that really does make these games great. But to me it's more than that. After dying so many times, after learning and sometimes having to re-learn enemy attack patterns when you move onto new game + and beyond, you begin to understand the game. You begin to learn to appreciate the mechanics that are involved and the level design. You can start seeing what the developers were thinking when they were designing individual aspects of levels and areas. This sense of understanding gives you a certain depth of immersion, a kind of proud achivement that I've personally never experienced in any other title.

The Souls games have always been successful in telling great stories with little and somtimes no voice acting/dialogue. Now I understand that to some people that's a big con, I mean a story that isn't explained to you? How dumb is that right? But the thing is, it doesn't explain it, because in many cases the Devs want it to be your own decision, they want you to personally theorycraft and understand things about this incredible world yourself. Maybe your right, or maybe your way off the mark, but it doesn't matter, if it makes sense then there's no reason for other people to tell you otherwise. The lore in this game is something phenomenal, and definitely not something to be glossed over. Both games have a terrificly deep story and even side quests, but all are open to the players interpretation. Again, something that no other title has ever given me.

So all in all, Dark Souls II is a game that you quite simply can't miss. Especially with multiplayer now through Steam both co-op and pvp work much better on PC. Yes this game is hard. Yes this game is frustrating. And yes there will no doubt be moments that cause you to rage furiously at this game. But if it were void of this challenge then the feeling of achievment would be greatly watered down. If you get this game and find it to difficult I beg you to stick with it, the anger it takes from you will be doubled with how happy it will make you when you eventually succeed- easily 10/10
