As much as I loved the first game and sank hours of play into it solo/multiplayer, I don't recommend getting the game right now. For all the graphical improvements, the game is very clunky. The UI feels sloppy, tooltips are missing or buried under other text/graphics.

Level 0-1 enemies (on journeyman) have like 30-40+ HP when your starting weapons do between 0-8 dmg which makes every fight feel like a slog/unnecessarily long, even if you are lucky enough to find a good weapon early. The combat camera likes to change around for seemingly no reason at all which further blocks tooltips/combat infomation.

Sitting in a solo play through right now as I type this because apparently you are unable to loot the gear from your fallen allies (after you are out of revives) so my best hero and all his kickass items are just stuck on the ground despite my party members standing around his body.

Character customization is lackluster with gender and backpacks being the only things you can change outside of colors. Some different hairstyles/beard styles or body types would be nice.

Had it on my wishlist for a while, grabbed it while on sale, played through the whole game in an afternoon and had a blast playing it. Its a simple and straight forward RTS style game with RPG elements.

Amazing little game, lots of replayable/varied content. Wonderful stories and character development.

I enjoyed the concept of the game at first but overall it falls short. The character art is beautiful and well done. The political aspects of trying to keep all the factions happy was an interesting change of pace compared to games I normally prefer. But with the RTS mode being so terrible is what killed the game for me. You can't progress without winning those RTS battles and your generals can't carry you through them all.

If the RTS side of things was cut from the game, I would continue playing just for the interesting political management.

Tad bit on the short side but a great game nonetheless, can't wait to play through it again on a higher difficulty!
