TLDR; This game is so good if it steals your girlfriend, I'm sorry but she made the right choice

What, A. Game.

Honestly I don't think I can really write a review that will do this justice, it is actually flawless. I got home on Friday after having my appendix removed, looking for something to sink my teeth into as I was on doctor's ordered bed rest and this absolute gem of a Game.

I've played a lot of Roguelike titles through the years, but I've never played one that feels so outstanding in all the areas it covers (except perhaps FTL). The Combat is energetic, complex and dynamic, with a wide variety of weapons, upgrade and combinations of those to fill hours of replays. The list of enemy's is extensive, even on my 19th or 20th hour in I was still encountering new mobs, and the bosses are also fantastic with a good number of alternate bosses for the early levels you will end up replaying. The environments too for all of this feel fresh, vibrant and are riddled with traps, and effects that keep you on your toes.

All of this is paired alongside a story and list of characters that are bursting with the charm that the tales they originate from had. They are whity, cheeky and an all around joy to listen too, perfectly filling the gaps between intense gameplay. This is delightfully supported by the art and music design which absolutely bangs, and a voice cast that clearly are having a ball and bring the characters to life.

Honestly this game gets a 5/5, cannot praise it enough, I would give it more if I could, not only are there no faults, but it smashes every category that I can think for this kind of game.

Now that they've gone back on the PSN stuff, I can actually give it a proper, heart felt and thorough review

They haven't made the game available again in non PSN regions though soo.... do not buy

This game should be filed under the dictionary definition of missed potential.

Lets wind back time and look at where this all began, pubg is released in 2017 and dominates the market with new battle royal game, literally gets everyone under the bright gaming lights of their 144hz monitors to play it. Gun play is tight but issues with performance and cheating are significant.

4 years later, its suffering from the same issues along with new trouble its invented for itself by not listening to the community. Cheaters, not refining core gameplay, adding features noone wants or asks for, the most expensive scam defining skins in any game these are the defining characteristics of this game, and really its a shame because under all this ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ is some of the best gun play of any fps on the market.

Honestly most of these issues I can forgive, as someone who has over 2k hours in it, there is great potential here. The real defining problem, and it is the most significant problem, is "Blue Balls" aka the brain dead developers. They have never listened to their community, ever since after like a month of the game being out the community recognised that the red zones should be removed.

Simply trimming the bad maps, adding new mechanics to ensure safer rotations, a focus on meds and ammo instead of wasted spawns, most of these fixes that are suggested by the pilars of the community as simply done with a quick patch, yet the devs just double down on new maps, $500 skins, and patches that always break the game.

TL;DR: Save yourself the 30 bucks and ring up that old pot smoking friend from highschool who still lives in his mums basement, because that moment where you hear their voice crack as they recognise they haven't changed in 10 years is the same thing you'll feel in 4 years if you are still playing this pile of ♥♥♥♥.

This game is the equivalent of getting a blowjob from someone who's never done it, in your mind its amazing and a lot of it lives up to the hype, but a part of your deep down knows that it's actually pretty ♥♥♥♥ you just aren't ready to admit it.
