A yes, just what I need when I wanna drive my self esteem 6 feet under.

There's a lot to be said about the Nocturne remaster. If your coming fresh out of a Persona game coming to try this out, be warned that a single slip or even the first enemy turn of an enemy encounter will demolish you, even on the normal difficulty. Once you learn the areas you're fighting in however, it becomes much easier. Many encounters are similar as long as your in the same area. So random encounters are wash rinse repeat. There's also a lot more customization for your party compared to Persona as well. The only permanent party member is the demifiend, but other than that, whatever demons you fuse can have almost any move set you want. In contrast, Persona has all the customization on the protagonist, and having friendly party members for coverage and playing certain roles, with a limited amount of customization.

There's also the press turn system. Its similar to one mores from Persona, but instead of getting an extra turn right away, the whole party gets an extra turn on a crit or weak hit. Say you have 2 demons. The Demi-Fiend (aka the protag) and a Pixie. When the Demi-Fend hits a super effective hit, pixie moves. Because of the flashing press turn icon, it cycles through the team list again. So Demi-Fiend can go for another super effective hit when Pixie's finished, create a flashing press turn, and give Pixie another turn. Also, usually buffs and debuffs work for every member of either your party or the enemies, always last forever (unless someone cast's dekaja or dekunda) and can stack up to 4 times.

As for returning players, the core gameplay is just as you remembered. Even though its a remaster, there are a lot of dips in quality, like how the music is just as compressed as the PS2 version of the game, or how some of the textures weren't replaced. There's a few localization changes to demon names, like Bishamon to Bishamonten, Pyro Jack to Jack-o-Lantern, Gui Xian (aka Genbu) to Xian Wu and so on. You can also select fusion moves for your demons now.

All in all, despite it's current flaws, I still recommend it whether your a new commer or returning player. Just be sure to save often and you'll have a ton of fun. Peace ✌

If you've played the original Quake 2 multiplayer, its pretty much the same fast-paced, insanely action packed and fun game as it was in the dos era, but just with a changes to game play and visuals.

Great game, loads of players all over the world, and the fact that you can get some items you have to pay for for free, makes this way better than the original Quake mod.
