I love this game. Everything I am about to say is...out of love, and frustration.

EDIT: Just got our first power bill since I started playing. Playing ARK added $50 to our MONTHLY power bill. Optimize this ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ game, for GODS' SAKE.

There are huge problems with every map.

Lots of stuff bugs out in general. It doesn't matter if you're vanilla or modded, or what map you're on, though there are some map-specific bugs.

There are bugs that cause crashes galore. The Center map is notorious for it. There's a bug where the better the quality of the items you have on you and the nicer your mount is, the more likely ARK is to crash.

There's creatures that people only get for special functions, except those functions bug out, there's no fix, you have to tame another, and then when you log out THAT one bugs out. So on and so forth.

It is EXTREMELY problematic. One or two bugs I've been ok with, personally (like allosaur packs spawning inside each other so they can't do more than spin in a circle). Most of them aren't. The awful lag spikes (down to >1fps) if you get anywhere near a cave aren't nice. The lighting bugs aren't nice(hope you don't have epilepsy!). The fatal crashes on old maps that should have had fixes YEARS ago that there's no WAY the devs don't know about aren't nice.

I can't even sign up for the ARK WEBSITE to tell them because even their email validation system doesn't work right, which is no surprise.

All in all, if you're willing to tolerate the buggiest game experience you may have in the whole of your life, you like minecraft, you want to ride dinos, and you have the patience of a SAINT, this is the game for you. Otherwise, it's probably just going to drive up your blood pressure.
