I have been into gaming since the early 80's, originally in the arcade, and then on the C64, and all consoles, with the exception of the more obscure ones (such as Neo Geo, and PC Engine). I have been gaming on PC since the early to mid 90's and I built my first PC in about 2002. I started going off console gaming around the PS2/Xbox era, where I started to feel that console games were becoming "same crap, different box", and I felt less and less compelled to get the next generation of console. I did have a PS3, mostly for watching Blu Ray, and I got given a Xbox360, which ended up being used for netflix and youtube. I never bothered with Xbox One, or PS4, because they simply did nothing for me, sure the graphics were nice, but they were behind my aging PC, and the very few games that interested me on console, were on PC anyway.

My favorite types of games are space sims, such as the X series, and RPGs. I am also a fan of the Warhammer 40,000 franchise, from the tabletop games and minis, to the novels, so I will give almost anything with Warhammer 40,000 in the title a go.

I have a huge interest in VR, my only experience so far being the Oculus Gear VR. I know that the Gear VR is nothing compared to "real" VR gaming, so after I get a decent GPU, I am intending to get the Valve index, and finally (properly) game in VR.
