Do you remember the launch of Halo: The Master Chief Collection?

That isn't anything compared to this.

It gave me an existential crisis.

I like it.

NieR Automata is easily one of my favorite games this year, and might be up there in my top 5 favorite games in general. Honestly I don't know what else to say, It's just different and refreshing. Definitely worth a buy. Writing this as I anxiously await the first DLC to be available.

I hadn't fully kept up with a Call Of Duty title since Ghosts, and I only bought BO3 a month ago for mod tools, but I have to say that I don't understand what everyones problem is.

This might be one of the best COD campaigns since Big Red One and the MW trilogy, giving you characters you can actually give some semblance of a damn about, especially Ethan, that dude is just adorable. The spaceship combat is just awesome aswell, which might give some gamers memories of Star Fox and other cool dogfights in video games. I also found the boost rigs not super useful in the campaign, surprisingly. Stealth finally comes into decent play in COD without being littered with QTEs to get around, Ghosts lean feature finally has some usefulness to it aswell.

I also wanna go over the setting and art style, yeah, I get it, all the COD kids think COD is copying Halo while all the Halo kids are pissy Halo is copying COD. It's a vicious cycle and it's kinda a shame gaming has gotten to that. If you remember the beta, a bunch of Halo guys got mad and claimed IW was ripping off designs from Halo, since then I have simply been unable to find those designs in the game, so good job idiots, they actually looked pretty cool, too. It's pretty clear IW takes inspiration from Halo, and even Activisions own Destiny for designs. It's not necessarily a bad thing as I think the art style has some pretty cool designs to it, even though there's an equal amount of very generic at best designs in my opinion.

Multiplayer is pretty fun, although I did skip AW and BO3, so I missed a lot. I played BO3 for about a month until this game came out and felt fairly at home playing this. It's fun, it's your pretty usual COD multiplayer, I just wish they took more advantage of all the cool stuff the singleplayer offered (give me zip lines in Multiplayer, please?)

I'm in the minority in this opinion, but I feel that Zombies is uh... stupid? I'm sure whatever they do for DLC will likely be more serious, but this just seems way too far apart from the rest of the game, the 80's setting and very weird characters just does not mesh well with the rest of the game for me. In terms of gameplay however, assuming you don't mind that, it's fun, it plays how you would expect, albeit slightly easier and a little too forgiving in my opinion, to the point that I think they should add difficulty levels to Zombies.

Overall, I feel like considering all the very negative things this game went through, it's absolutely worth a purchase. It manages to defeat any negative expectations I could have had simply coming out of Ghosts. I understand that 101% of the COD kids didn't want another Sci Fi COD, but just shut the hell up and play it because even if I didn't write this review you still would have bought it. It's different enough from all the other Call Of Duty titles that you'll still enjoy it very much, and with rumors that the next COD game for 2017 will take place in Vietnam, you don't have to wait much longer, I promise.

BEST GAME, BEST GAME, 10/10 MUST PLAY, GREAT GAMEPLAY, BUG FREE. ABSOLUTELY.
