Pros
- Looks very good.
- Audio is good, if a bit confusing (but it is a war zone after all)
- Attention to detail top drawer.
- Performance was fine on my PC.

Cons
- No FOV adjustment?
- No (obvious) way to select mission.
- Straight up weird controls.
- I assume no scaling depending on squad size 1-4. I tried solo as I was home from work before friends who were going to buy this and the longest I lasted was about 2 mins.
- As above, but no AI available to fill squad.
- No load out selection.
- No character customisation.
- Personally the cost is a bit much for a bare bones game.

Will put it back onto wishlist and have a look in 6-12 months when it might be more feature complete.

Ninja Theory showing that a 'smaller' game can take on the bigger titles, possibly even showing up some of the so called AAA games recently. Good balance of a walking simulator, with plenty of action points and an interesting story to keep you occupied. Along with the blind** 'permadeath' system, there were some sweaty palm moments. Some of the puzzle sections could have been a bit more varied, but what do you expect for a budget price and the audio work is great and plays a huge roll in this (you have to play with a headset to get the full effect)

GFX - 9/10
Audio - 9/10

I hope there are indeed more stories to tell.

** I've no idea how many times you are allowed to die before the permadeath kicks in.

This is going to be an odd review of my experience so far.

I had no issue with reading the text, the gfx in general are ok, nothing spectatuclar, but not bad either. Remember folks, this is still the 1st generation of VR.

No the bummer. I only managed about 10 minutes of actual play in my Oculus Rift due to the fact I felt so ill while playing. This is the first time I have had this happen so quickly (it did happen with Project Cars after about 2 hours). But I'm still not going to mark it down, due to the fact no one else seems to have this issue, so I guess this just isnt for me. The fact I can still get back into it without the VR means at least I can still play it.

Great game, with my only (sort of) complaint is its length. I have liked to have had more of it, possibly there could have been a few extra 'days' in the story, though it did end pretty much how I expected.

Not sure how they could, but would be interested if there was a follow up game.

+ Great visually.
+ Good atmosphere when trying to find your way about.
+ Using a map and compass makes a change from the pointer. ;)
+ Good voice acting. (heard on a podcast that neither of the actors met in person, sounds familiar)
+ Great story.

- A tad short.

Bought this a few months ago and have to say its not a dissapointment at all.

The base game may look below standards today, but you have to remember its coming onto 10 years old. However there are plently of various add ons that change that. Since buying this I have bought several add ons and though some are a tad expensive, the change to the sim are worth it.

There is quite a steep learning curve, especially if you decide to get one of the advanced aircraft. But its had to beat nailing a landing in bad weather :)

The only downside to it is the fact that its showing its age and cannot use modern PC's to the full. I have had several instances of "Out of memory" errors when trying to run everything on "High". Other than that, if you like flight sims and you dont mind a challenge, go for it.

Obviously over the years of playing the recent DiRT games I have become softened to how hard the Colin McRea games were. Well at least thats my excuse for being terrible at it.

Looking forward to see how this goes in the future.
