UPDATE: Sony is being dumb still and has delisted the game from 180 Countries because they lack PSN access. They've also banned players from those countries who had purchased the game before the PSN cancellation. WE DIVE TOGETHER OR NOT AT ALL!!






OLD REVIEW DUE TO SONY: Forcing players to get PSN months after launch is a bad, I'd even say terrible idea. With the amount of security breaches PSN has yearly I trust Steam a million times more. I trust Steam with important financial info, I wouldn't trust PSN with a rotten egg. This is on the same level of ♥♥♥♥ up as Gaijins ♥♥♥♥ ups with War Thunder. Do not purchase and request a refund.

Played the game since closed Beta. Well over 32,000 hours (Majority of hours in Standalone.) and I have watched the game rise and now fall.

It absorbed so much of my young life. I was in Elementary school when I first started playing. Now I have a career as a mechanic and as a trucker. This game is nothing but a cash grab. The constant un ending grinding, and you only make money when you pay IRL money for the in game currency, Premium Account, or Premium Vehicles.

TL;DR:
I do not recommend this game anymore, and it hurts to see it fall so hard. 10 years, at least $5,000 on Premium Account alone, and most of my time was the price. Do not play it, stop paying for their sham.

Update: Still do not recommend. If you're already in you're hooked. But I'd still advise staying away. Save yourself the pain.

The game is alright. But this map is not worth the money. The main stay game of Alligators have a tendency to get stuck and there are too few ways to travel across the delta from the map design. And the story is...Well to say it spits in the face of a good portion of their target audience is an understatement;
It shows southern people as being Rhacist and slobs and just overall unpleasant. One of the story missions is so...off topic that I actually switched reserves and swore to not continue the story.

TL:DR
Game is OK, don't get this map.

The game is alright. The Community managers have noticed our gripes and have rectified their viewpoint.

Not worth it in the slightest. The AI is over-powered to hell from the start meaning if you try to do anything in Carrer you'll get ROFL stomped into the dust before anything can be done. There are no presets with weapons (Aside from Workshop vehicles) and none of the vehicles shown in the trailer are in game which was probably a big draw in. The weapons have horrid spread characteristics making it impossible to do any form of precise shooting or weapon drops. Just makes the DLC overall not worth the money or the time!

TL;DR - Not worth the $10.00. I wouldn't even pay $3 for it.

So far I'm having a great time with this map. Despite what people are saying about bad frames I'm having no issues...even with the low flying over the islands and I have a mid-range PC. Not to mention a FREE map from ED is a absolute godsend and will boost the usefulness of Carrier based aircraft tenfold. The people who are complaining about it being "Empty" are missing the point of the map; It's supposed to be empty, it's supposed to be massive and unnerving to fly and fight in.

All in all I'd give this map a solid 9-10/10

I've been playing DCS since about 2013. Back then I used Standalone I now use Steam. Great simulator and great for the pilot who was blue balled by the FAA. Plus this lets me live out my dreams to fly an F-14 and an A-10C. I recommend almost anyone with a passion for flight try this game. While you don't get much starting out its actually a good thing. It eases you in and makes you learn how the simulator operates. Plus, who doesn't love cruising around in a TF-51D? and I still use my Su-25T for SEAD.

Great Game. This game had a rocky start but the Dev team fixes problems so quickly there are very few things that haven't already been fixed. They are always adding new features and removing unneeded things. I'd say this is among my favorite games to play while just chilling after being at work for 12 hours.

The controls can be weird if you don't practice enough and try to not learn them but once you do you have 3 aircraft to mess around in and one of the BEST physics engines I've ever seen in a game.
