Basically this is the answer to the question ''Why are the reviews so negative?''
Because the game is hard and people suck. You can basically see who is bad and who is not simply by looking how they rated this DLC. Red Hook put a lot of effort into desinging new monsters, bosses a whole new area and even music. But the main reason why people dislike it is because it's hard. Last time I checked everyone loved darkest dungeon because of it's difficulty, and suddenly people are all pissy and whiny because they don't get a class that can instakill the Heart of Darkness. The DLC is awesome and every mechanic in it is equally amazing, it is challenging, it is rewarding.

Because of the negative reviews I was really considering to not buy it, but that would be a big mistake for a player like myself who loves this game. Keep it up Red Hook, you didn't dissapoint people who ignore the gameplay and look into the sheer creativity and amazingness of this new expansion.

Probably the best RPG made after my taste, don't understand me wrong, there are a lot of award worthy games of the same genre out there but none manage to hide everything as good as Dark souls. At first you kill some bosses, but ad the time goes on you start understanding the tragic backstories of every single enemy you face, making every kill harder and harder to complete. Especially when in the end you face your former self.
