Fun game -- ban waves occur frequently for the sad fem-boys who are so used to cheating in life they have to cheat in game. Happy that's locked down. Loads of progression to be had, a decent amount of customization for your character and stats that affect how fast or slow you move - etc. I would get it..

The best thing about this game -- The Price actually fits for the game... Endless fun and you don't feel like your getting robbed like other early access titles that are barely playable or lacking severe content, etc. You get my point. This one doesn't cost 39.99$ USD for an EA access and doesn't have cosmetic micro transaction BS.

SUPPORT GOOD DEVS MAKING GOOD DECISIONS

I should have known better than to buy another OWI product.... As is the same issue with literally any game, specifically any game developed by OWI -- many don't have issues yet MANY do at the same time. The people who do have issues, their issues go unaddressed and the community gets ignored about bug fixes and QOL improvements.....

I purchased this game PURELY out of the fact that I ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ love Starship Troopers. It actually turned my stomach a bit knowing I was feeding the Tencent loving monster OWI with their horrible community outreach reputation. Regardless, I had hope and tried my damnest to remain impartial.

Just like that. Hope was immediately washed away by crashing within the first two minutes. TWO MINUTES. of joining a game. This can hardly be considered "Early Access".... Everyone needs to stop supporting EA garbage that cannot run by devs who are milking wallets and ignoring the people they rob.

If you are curious -- here is a link to the crash log reporting since there are blind fools out there that will say "I haven't heard anyone crashing. weird. check your system requirements" lol. What a bot.

Absolute money hungry devs. Fantastic game and have played it MANY thousands of hours (including before it was brought to steam)... That being said, they started going good there for a long while and have very recently made economic changes to the game that have absolutely tanked any hope in achieving anything. Boycott this game immediately and DO NOT play it or give them your time of day.

I want this review to be very clear so there will be TWO parts to this review.

PART 1:

This game is extremely fun, enjoyable, and smooth (for the most part). Multiplayer is in the game and that is a huge plus so you can coop with a friend. There are many different things to do and the game really does open up End Game which I personally view as a real positive. I've sunk over a hundred hours into this game across several different high level builds and have enjoyed every bit of it of it with some exception that will be discussed in PART TWO, and also why I am not recommending this game.

PART 2:

This game is riddled full of bugs. Nothing horribly game breaking (at least none that I've experienced) The types of bugs encountered is random crashes, freezing, stuttering, (even in single player) and items disappearing after you've picked them up. Pretty problematic.

The game is extremely farm heavy end game. Whatever the amount of time you put into the game to get to the "End-Game" expect to put in 100x that just to get the gear you need to complete your build. No, I am not exaggerating.

Multiplayer has what I like to call yo-yo bugs.... Latency style issues or sync issues that like to rubber-band you back and forth on occasion after teleporting or using various skills, or sometimes not using any skills and just walking.

with the categorical number of bugs that are still in this game, the new onslaught of bugs implemented when 0.9 (introduction of MP patch) you would think the priority of the dev team would be to fix these quickly and with great effect.... No... The dev team instead, today on 5/18/23 decided to release a micro-transaction shop for ugly cosmetics that are insanely overpriced despite the fact the game is a PAID EARLY ACCESS title and still has NUMEROUS bugs that WILL drive many people away.

10/10 -- do not buy this game. do not give the money hungry devs your money because they do not and will not fix their game or care about the community (all 2,000 concurrent players) as this game is already dying and wilting like a vegetable field during a drought in Mexico.

To add more info / update ---- After massive outrage the development team implemented their MTX shop, in a message titled "response to MTX store" You would think the dev's would have wisened up and ♥♥♥♥♥♥ rid of the dang thing. Nope. They just once again ignored the greater message, although lowering the prices and charging USD instead of some other currency for 'epoch points'. It's just grandstanding... They don't actually care about the community.


***** EDITED 2/22/2024. I waited a full 24 hours post release of the "official launch" of this game. The servers are completely inaccessible by most. Some can get in. Most cant. If you inquire about this in their official discord they ban your chatting ability for at least 24 hours. No disent is allowed. Not worth the buy. The Last Epoch fan boys will tell you that this is the "diablo" killer, yet, I remember 9/10 people being able to play diablo IV on launch day versus the 1/10 people playing Last epoch. Regardless of comparing apples to oranges, and to be clear, this is a big rotten apple, Last Epoch is simply not worth it. Too many people are already asking for refunds. Flop.

Game is not ready for launch. Cool idea. I would say that are about 2/100th of the way there. Definately DO NOT buy until they have made it not look and feel like a N64 game.

10/10 - actively patched and balanced and updated. New season just rolled out. Road map available. Highly funded development team who was passionate about Paragon. A must have for any MOBA fan.

Very cool game. Love how the devs are rolling out STABLE and WELL performing content instead of vomiting out a heap of buggy mess all over the table with empty promises of 'fixing' it all like most devs do. This is a 10/10 game that should not receive a single negative review. period.

After 565 hours I feel I am finally worthy enough (barely so) to write a positive review for the game. The developers have poured nothing but love into this game the entire step with regular updates, new content, fixes, changes, and so much more. The game has become easily one of the very best MIL-SIM games on the playable market and being a combat vet myself, one of the most realistic MIL-SIM games on the market.

I have played competitive matches, casual matches, been banned off servers due to power hungry angry French women and met an entire swath of very cool people. Most of the community here are old mature respectful gamers with the occasional ♥♥♥♥-head immature gen-z that comes in screaming about how his impossible whopper tasted funny. Otherwise, the community is 10/10. Gameplay 10/10. Audio 10/10. Immersion 10/10. Mechanics 10/10. Content 10/10. Potential for future content 100/10. The devs will never stop loving this game, and its not corrupted by big tech and corporations and the like.

Long story short, Drop your ♥♥♥♥♥ and grab your socks. It's combat time, and squad needs you, and you need Squad.

It has now been a very long time since I've played this game. A year? Just about a year? I'm not entirely sure on the time frame but this much I do know. I stopped playing because Off World Industries released a "big" update to the game that broke a lot of peoples in-game microphones. They still have yet to fix it. On top of not fixing it, they now have apparently broken the game entirely with their "big" update, that introduced a new version of the Unreal Engine but mostly brought in 22gb update worth of purchasable "emotes" into a mil-sim game.... Practically everyone within this community that play it regularly are foaming at the mouth about this and are beyond heated and disappointed. OWI has taken it upon themselves to completely ignore their player base, and do whatever the hell they want, which is very clearly, not wanted, desired, or a step in the right direction for the future of this game.

At this time, DO NOT PURCHASE. It would be safer to go collect as many STD's as you can and live a happy life. At least you would be getting SOME enjoyment from your choices and actions.

FIX THE CO-OP BUGGY NIGHTMARE MESS THAT IS GIVING THIS GAME BAD REVIEWS.
