YouTube has some tutorial videos on how to use the main control room and the Spy training room on Walkway, although the best ones are older, from before the Steampipe update to TF2 (which changed how directories for TF2 are organized under Steam, so don't get confused by different pre-Steampipe install path). And the buttons in the control room all have explanations on what they do pop up when you look at them. Just select them by hitting the buttons with a melee weapon.

Just go to YoutTube and look for beginner tutorials on how to use the airblast (a.k.a. compression blast).
Here is a good Reflect Rocket Jump Tutorial (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OCo0NWOyDS4) for Pyros, it also explains how to set up the controls in Walkway to train rocket reflecting.

And of course one of the main uses for the airblast: Pushing back enemy players, and extinguishing burning teammates. The right mouse button is the Pyro's friend.

A good TF2 training map to train against BOTs, which allows the player to control all kinds of features, is tr_walkway_rc2. You can find info on it and download it here: http://forums.tf2maps.net/showthread.php?t=8909

On a Windows PC, you need to install the unpacked .bsp map file into Steam\SteamApps\common\Team Fortress 2\tf\download\maps\*.* directory. Then you can use "Create Server" to spawn the map for yourself. Join RED team. The BOTs are on BLU team.
