on a serious note though, this is a fun game, had fun in the play tests, still have fun...the only issue I have is the sound gets buggy if you are on a minimum requirements system. that is the only performance issue I have. the sound is glitched/cuts out a bit. this was also an issue in the play tests.

but other than that, solid title.

Update: I still enjoy this game, but....the blatant aimbot users are getting a little out of hand. Literally watching someone snap instantly to targets and never miss a shot while they drive around obstacles, rapid speed changes, direction changes, terrain changes....but they NEVER miss a shot. lets get real. If you have to cheat in a combat racing game, how ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ pathetic are you ?

do you play mouse and keyboard? if you do then dont play this game. do you like losing gunfights from range because everyone is using a controller and rotational aim assist is so ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ broken in this game that you are getting beamed across the map with smg's? if you dont enjoy that, then dont buy this game. do you like doing well in 1-2 games then the next 6-10 games its like the game is actively screwing you over? if you think that sounds bogus then you wont like EOMM(engagement optimized match making). Do you like matching in a 30 ping lobby just to be constantly hit with packet burst and packet loss for and entire match, where even point blank its like your bullets do 0 damage because the game wants you to do poorly and the other team to eat(see earlier section on EOMM) If they tuned rotational aim assist WAY down, and didnt actively ♥♥♥♥ you for doing well in a match, then sure its a good game. (even if it really is just a 70 dollar dlc to mw2) But there are too many things wrong with mw3 for me to recommend it to anyone.

4 guys did what AAA studios couldn't. They also work with other indie developers. not much else to say but this game is great, and the dev team seem great.

So, the XP issue aside, ranked seems to favor kills versus wins and objective play/capture. because you dont frag out, and you cap zones, or flags you get punished in the ranks. playing with 4 friends i defend/cap flags. they frag out. I get bronze 5 and they get platinum or diamond. This seems kind of ♥♥♥♥♥♥ for a ranked system that has objective based play not just slayer. What is the point in having CTF, or Stronghold in ranked if you get ♥♥♥♥♥♥ rank for not having a lot of kills? Wins should matter. not your performance. I see people fragging out but losing 7/10 of their placement matches and getting platinum.

Fix the XP, no reason it should take a whole month to MAYBE get half way thru a battlepass, and fix how the rank system works. either make it slayer only, or adjust calculation for the other modes.

Also, add Juggernaut, King of the Hill etc for custom game types.

I still think this is a fun game, so for a free halo multiplayer, it does the job. but the battle pass xp and the rank system needs work.

Game seems fun, and makes you almost think it is balanced. it is not. some characters you have to empty multiple magazines into an opponent before they even look like they take damage, and some burn through opponents in half a mag. This game is no where near balanced. some characters compared to others are just freaking broken. Tosca Ajonah and Sazan are broken. Drakahl can be broken at times. the others are just about useless.

Never trust reviews by people with less hours in game than you would like to sleep at night.

No the irony is not lost on me.

Game seems "better" since they fixed all the screw ups that happened last year....but all the NA servers are dead, and when you get a match, the server dies the next round. It is still a good game, but quick match still sends you into servers alone.

Also, where are these servers hosted? seems wierd that I can only get sub 90 ping on 2-3 servers and see 248 ping on others that are listed as NA, but then i get better ping when i pick any other server group that is not NA? this leads to seeing ONE round and hearing ONE round fired at you, but then you die and it shows your paper doll riddled with hits from an AR. wtf? pumping a mag from your SCAR-H into someones head who is sliding into a break doesnt kill them, but they pump a burst into your leg and steel chest plate and you die. this game still has ping issues, and lots of abusers.

Also, you can vault over some walls, but not a rock that is 2 feet high, and you cant even jump over it if it is on the slightest of slopes. this makes trying to get to an objective on some maps a PAIN IN THE ASS because something you can just take a slightly higher than normal step to get over, is an unpassable barrier.

Not sure if i should recomend the game, as i dont think it is worth the price to be honest. and the fact it took them this long to fix it in the first place after they ♥♥♥♥♥♥ it up last year is telling about wtf they are doing with the revenue from this game. At least, they aren't fixing the matchmaker or the other random issues i have mentioned above with the revenue.

But I will still play it, hoping for a surge in playerbase on NA. when that happens, coupled with other issues being fixed, I will re-edit this review to reflect.

I have yet to come across any "cheats" in this game. Most people complaining about rampant hacks are probably poorly positioned and think they died to hacks when really they're getting shot from someone they didnt expect to be someplace.
Game is addicting, and a blast in squads. Servers do have issues but as early access and with as many people on every region all the time its popularity isnt by mistake.
Computer intensive.

Now to update my review since the addition of first person mode and the issue of bans:

First person is WAY better than third person. No safe camping, no third person camera LOS abuse, fights are more dynamic and skill based in first person. Again, just my opinion on that matter.

Microtransactions and Cosmetic items: The micro transactions people are complaining about were for charity and to fund the Gamescom Tourney. Those crates are now out of game, but you needed the Key to open them, so you paid 2.50 for a key. now you can get them on marketplace, both the left over hoarded Gamescom crates, and the keys, or buy the key from within the game....(that was a headache.....took a week to get the key i purchased in game, where as the key i purchased on steam marketplace was in my inventory as soon as i refreshed the lobby UI)

Many are saying the camo cosmetic items give an advantage.....because they are idiots. the only thing you can get in game that acts like real camo IS the Ghillie, from airdrops. The camo clothes, while saying "Camo" do not make you blend in. You can spot someone wearing all camo cosmetic items attainable through BP just as easily as you can spot a nakes person, or someone wearing all white. Even if you get grey camo combat pants, and the grey camo coat etc, they arent even the same pattern. And you can still see the guy wearing all the camo from range in your scope.....please stop crying about camo clothes already. They provide 0 benefit.
Also someone posted that there will be no free crates after EA. They provide a currency in game. There will always be crates that you can purchase using that currency. please stop being stupid. seriously.

Bans: Many people within the reviews are giving negative marks because they or a friend "one time only" honked at a streamer while they killed them etc etc. They want to say they are catering to the streamers and banning anyone who kills them for harrassment or stream sniping etc. Also many people are saying its impossible to stream snipe in a game that has a randomized lobby.

Here are some facts: They dont ban you just because you killed someone one time or honked your horn while a streamer was playing. They only ban you when its shown via metrics that you are indeed joining and leaving matches untill you are in the lobbies with those streamers, then proceeding to stream snipe and harrass them. Its not impossible to do, its easy, especially when you can join and exit and join and exit multiple times to enter the same lobby as the person you see on stream before the 1:00 min timer begins or before the match is totaly full.

People do this. They do it a lot. And its not a one time offence that gets you banned, or reported. its after multiple games that the person is killed by the same people in the same manner and blaring the horn to purposefully harrass someone that they hit report. Then they cheg your logged data, and notice your activity and ban if warranted.

Ive killed a couple streamers recently and didnt get banned. I also stole one guys UAZ then when he shot at me, i turned around honked my horn and ran him over. Maybe its because in VOIP i said "sorry man didnt know it was you but i need this ride!" not just sitting there blaring the horn to be a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.

To bring this to a close, they dont ban you just because you did something one time against a streamer, but only when a trend of occurance is noted. The microtransactions were for a good cause, and provide 0 in game benefit other than looking awesome before you cover it all with armor, anyone crying about bans probably earned it, and this game is still great fun.

I have a few hours logged in and would have had more if my work hours didnt get crazy for the last month and a half.

Im not an awesome player, but im also not an exploiter or stream sniper or general douchebag in the lobby so maybe thats why my overall experience when matched against streamers is better than those who claim banned for no reason.

I recommend the game, still, and unless they go p2w by adding weapons to a cash shop i will continue to recommend it.
