f***ed my girlfriend so hard I ruined her career. 10/10

I almost want to leave a negative review for this game because it's very, very good but tantalizingly short. This both works in the games favor and doesn't, since it gives you just enough to speculate on and mull over after playing, but I do wish I got to know a little more about the characters.

I've read quite a few visual novels, and this one was a pleasant surprise. The Doki Doki Literature Club boom sent a lot of people into making knock-offs without quite understanding what made Doki Doki literature Club work, and I expected that from this game. Rest assured however, this game clearly understands how to make compelling horror. I especially enjoyed the blunt yet incredibly visceral descriptions of the nightmares our character has each night.

Is it worth 15 dollars? Absolutely not, I finished the entire thing including all routes in about 2 hours. Is it worth about 5-7 dollars? Yes. I recommend purchasing it on sale and sitting down for an enjoyable spooky night. A light gory snack of a VN that is quite satisfying, if a little bit lacking.

As much as I wanted to like this game, and as much as I adore the edgy magical girl genre, this game just doesn't justify its price tag. The majority of the time is just spent visiting all the girls in their various locations, gifting them various items for the same piece of dialogue, and very occasionally something spooky will happen which always surprised me. It was like getting tased while falling asleep.

It's exciting and I wanted more spooky things to happen, but then the game just falls right back into its day to day routine and before you know it the story is over. 7 hours for a visual novel is pretty anemic, especially when about 4 hours of it was spent just navigating menus and upping stats. The game establishes some pretty good character intrigue, but then just refuses to deliver on any of it because you barely get to spend any actual time with the girls you're courting. Not to spoil, but the ending also completely ruins any time you even spent with them in the first place and reframes the whole romance aspect into a weird exploitative mess.

It might be worth it if it's heavily discounted and I did at least get a little bit of enjoyment out of it, but if you're looking for a compelling psychological horror, then definitely skip this one.

I would have recommended this VN until the EXTRA portion. The EXTRA portion of a VN should not be about as long as the actual VN, and it also shouldn't have a wildly conflicting tone with 15 year old girls in skimpy bikinis. On sale it might be worth it, but if you're looking for a decent story with good themes look elsewhere.

Really cute little RPG maker game that has a lot of clever writing and good characters. Highly recommended for those who like time loop stories!

I am a really big fan of Bravely Default, which is what drew me to this game in the first place. Having played the entire game, which took about 60 hours, I'd have to say that this is a mediocre successor at best, but one that arguably is worth your time if you know what you're getting into. I wish I could give this a "neutral", but I can't so I will give it a thumbs up as I certainly did play my moneys worth of it. If you like bravely default, don't expect this game to be nearly as polished or snappy, but the music is top notch and the ambience is pretty good. The characters are all pretty mediocre tho. 6/10.
