Still a great Persona game till this day. Hope for 3 to actually make it into PC as well, whether as a remake or remaster.

Review:
Definitely a must buy Visual Novel for those looking for a great story. It'll be an unforgettable journey and also great for those starting their visual novel experience

Summer Pockets is a great game with amazing visuals, amazing soundtracks and very immersive story. The game is a visual novel created by Key , who is very famous for their tear-jerking stories, combined with a lot of funny moments and dramas. The typical Jun Maeda touch that always have the story be able to make the readers cry.

Their soundtracks are amazing as you can expect from a Key’s creation if you are familiar with their previous entries. Even the opening of the game itself IMO is very good and fitting. (I like almost all of their emotional and vocal soundtracks, especially “ Stuffing My Pockets Full ” [JP Name: ポケットをふくらませて], “ Alka Tale ”, and “ Evening Medley of Fireworks ” [JP Name: 夜奏花] ).

The game has 4 routes featuring the heroines and a true end to conclude the series. Each route has different developments and pacing of their story, creating different and unique ways to tell the heroines’ stories. (Btw, I especially love Ao’s route).

The game also comes with CG and soundtrack galleries (as always because it is a visual novel game) that are very organized. The save and load menu goes to a maximum number of 1000 slots so you don’t need to worry about running out, in case you like to save many parts of the story like I do.

Gameplay Progression and Story:
The recommended order of the heroine’s route to play is:
1. Shiroha
2. Ao
3. Kamome
4. Tsumugi
More details can be seen in this English version of the guide I used (Recommended by a friend):
https://plsnohate.wordpress.com/summer-pockets-guide/

Though the gist of it is, by using this order the story will make a lot more sense because some aspects of the story is answered by the next route. There are also a little bit of spoilers for the earlier routes in the later routes so this order IMO is very solid. Though each of the heroines’ route and story is mainly disconnected from each other, and it might feel like it’s some sort of side-stories for the main route of the game. (You’ll know what I’m talking about after playing the game yourself)

Of course it wouldn't be a Key entry without repeating the first parts of the game again, so after finishing the first 2 routes, the prologue will be somewhat different so you will need to read it again. The same thing needs to be done after each of the last 2 heroine routes, as it will also be different. The reason why you need to do this is because those differences will connect the story to the main route and eventually build it up to the true end route.

Overall, I can give it a rating of 9/10. The stories are very touching and immersive, but some parts of it needs more answers (Specifically Umi’s ending) . I hope that the upcoming upgraded version of the game “ Summer Pockets Reflection Blue ” can bring a more satisfying experience. Compared to previous Key’s game entries, Summer Pockets is more straightforward and simple to play, making it a very fitting game to start with if you’re just starting to get into visual novels and looking for a great story.

When you buy this game, you can look forward to playing and reading it as it is very interesting and will definitely be a very satisfying experience.

Review:

Aokana is a Japanese visual novel type game created by Sprite released on November 28, 2014 (which makes it a quite old visual novel). It then got translated into English and was released on September 27, 2019 by NekoNyan. This game was one of my first visual novels game and have been my favorite ones of all time.

Aokana features a sport genre of a story, included in it are stunning visuals, beautiful musics and soundtracks that matches the flow, and a very worthwhile story that focuses on the characters’ life, relationships and struggles in their world of sports.

The visuals are amazing for a visual novel at that time back when it got released (2014) and I still consider it as one of my top favorites up till now. The visuals provided in the cinematic scenes and regular CGs are amazing and it is even more stunning in the CG’s of the matches. Example of those CG’s are (taken from my screenshot wall): *No Spoilers in it so no worries*

Story:

The game has a total of 5 routes (6, if you consider the extra end as well). It consists of 4 heroines’ routes, a bad end. As Aokana is originally an adult visual novel/eroge, the only thing that kinda matters are the heroine routes.

The heroines’ routes are pretty much disconnected to each other so to be honest you can just choose which heroines ones matches your interest first but I recommend this order:

Mashiro -> Rika -> Misaki -> Asuka

No matter what, I suggest having [Misaki -> Asuka] be played last for IMO the best experience because their matches and development will be your most memorable one. You can switch up Mashiro and Rika however you want though.

This VN has been my favorite of all times, and I recommend it for those who are starting to get into the world of visual novels because Aokana definitely has a one of a kind story that you will enjoy.
