Having a personal automobile is freedom. Going where you want, when you want, at the speed you want. Being able to cover hundreds of miles in a day. Stopping when and where you feel like it, taking detours because you saw something interesting and decided to check it out on a whim. Being able to work 50 miles from where you live and shrugging off the distance. Going to see a friend in need at 4am when the world is asleep. Going to the 24-hour walmart at midnight to buy junk food and beer. Doing whatever the ♥♥♥♥ you want.
If I had to choose between living in my house and taking public transportation to work, or living in my car, I'd live in my car no question.. It's like having a horse and a hat in the wild west. Buses should be considered a last resort for the financially destitute, one step above walking. Because that's what they are. Imagine having to orient your daily schedule around when someone else chooses to drive you. Having to wait outside in the weather for when some fat city employee deigns to arrive and pick you up, and then being forced to sit in a puddle of piss, or stand, for the duration of your trip, which takes twice as long as it should due to all the other stops inbetween to pick up more subhumans. Then you're dropped off not in the parking lot of your office, but a block away at the location the bus driver finds most efficient for HIS schedule. The absolute ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ state.
Anyone who voluntarily decides not to own a personal vehicle is a pile of rotting garbage, wrapped up in flesh, presuming to be human. When you don't drive, you sacrifice your freedom. You may as well be ground up and fed to dogs, because your life has no agency. You have no free will. You claim to be aware, but your actions are not those of a person, they are that of a trained animal, going through identical motions every day until you expire.
