I've played every game the devs put out and The Cat Lady is still in my top 5 best indie horror games- and really just top horror games in general. The story and characters in Burnhouse Lane are fantastic and something that the devs always seem to nail but it's the gameplay that's a little frustrating. The game uses manual saves and they are often few and far between when you actually need them. Nearly every enemy in the game is a one hit kill which can get really frustrating really fast, especially when you have to load a save that's really far back from where you were. The platforming sections definitely need work because they're a little janky at times.
I recommend this game in general, especially to long-time fans of the other games. When it comes to new players I would suggest starting with The Cat Lady or Downfall as they are fantastic games that introduce the series in a way that might be more enjoyable. I appreciate that they were trying new things with this game I just felt like some mechanics fell really flat while the rest of it was as enjoyable as their other games.

For context, I've played every Nancy Drew game (besides the most recent one) and I owned the original version of Secrets Can Kill a while back. The game isn't bad but it's nowhere near my favorites in the series. It's great if you want to experience the first game they made but it's actually playable and the story isn't as terrible. But this one is short and there are very few puzzles. The whole game is one long puzzle without many side puzzles. I would highly recommend NOT picking this as your first Nancy Drew game to play. My top pick is Last Train to Blue Moon Canyon or Ghost of Thornton Hall (the latter is great if you want something smoother with decent visuals or if you saw the Game Grumps play it and found the story interesting). This is a perfectly okay game but it's not that great. Lots of stereotypes in it.

Oxenfree is definitely one of my favorite games. I originally played the mobile version because it was cheaper and just completed another run of it on my computer. There's different endings (not drastically different but still) and you FOR SURE have to play it at least twice because things will be different. Using the radio to tune into signals is a fun little puzzle and if you play around you can find secret stations. The characters feel very real to me and being able to choose what you want to say, much like telltale games, gives some extra freedom.
I definitely recommend playing it, especially if it's on sale.
