Perfect accompaniment enhancing the mystical, old-world atmosphere of the game. Great to relax or reflect by anytime, anywhere - while reading, in the bath or driving in your car (yes, done all that).

Time spent in Eastshade is time spent with your soul.

Eastshade is one of the most interesting and enjoyable games I've ever come across outside of the shooter genre. This walking simulator is definitely a welcome, relaxing retreat from running around shooting up soldiers or zombies.

The story is set in a beautiful pre-industrialised world. Explore your surroundings in an old-world atmosphere accompanied by relaxing music. Get to know the mystical yet simple human-like characters with animal heads that live in this idyllic place. You advance by completing quests, done by interacting with individuals, scavenging for materials, crafting objects, creating paintings, travelling the map as you do so.

At the end it felt a pity to leave the world I got to know behind. Somewhat like when you reach the end of a great book and you know you're about to, inevitably, leave old friends you're not sure you'll see again.
There is no need to rush and your character cannot die. Take time to explore every nook and cranny. My first playthrough took 30 lazy but suspenseful hours.

Beautiful graphics. Memorable characters. Hats off to a masterpiece.

(Same developer and universe as Leaving Lyndow.)

"Last Tide" can be a very addictive multiplayer battle royale experience with Player (diver) vs. Player (divers) vs. AI (divers and sharks). It was created by the same people that made the popular game "Depth", which is a very similar diving survival game. Players start each match with a knife only and have to look for pistols and rifles (attachments are available) that use either spears, darts or microjets. Three kinds of grenades are available. First aid to heal yourself has to be found and administered. And finding bags make carrying enough of everything a bit easier. Treasure can also be picked up to deposit into the robotic S.T.E.V.E,, which also controls the ever-shrinking shark screen.

You will be attacked by a variety of sharks: goblins, makos, tigers, hammerheads, bulls and great whites. But the most vicious predator is the Megalodon, a huge presence on a map filled with dangers. To take it down is the ultimate prize, something you may want to recruit a team for.

Although "Last Tide" has no co-op mode, you can still "team up" with friends using a voice server and coordinating your moves on the large map. Finding a compass and a GPS helps with navigation and pin-pointing your exact location, but you may get to know the map pretty well simply by playing the game a lot. Each match lasts around an hour, but depending on the timing of the load-in, you may be entered into a match at a very late stage. Upon death, divers get respawned into a match up to a certain point.

It has to be noted that "Last Tide" does not have many active players and most of the other divers you encounter in-game tend to be AI. This however does not detract from the fun as there will always be plenty of enemies about. Acquire differently coloured and shaped dive pods by earning clams through completing quests and building up your score.

"Last Tide" is in early access. Some bugs do exist, like getting dragged by a shark into structures or even underneath the sea floor, sometimes resulting in your diver getting stuck. Hopefully this will be sorted out in the future and more gamers will join the battle for supremacy of the sea.

Tonguç Bodur makes us stop and then look at what's around as well as within us. It's about the journey within both the world and the self. In this short, slow-paced walking simulator we're led along a path of reflection, like dreamily staring into a glass of wine. Gone is the need to rush, to be somewhere else fast. The enormity of life is only truly experienced when we slow down to ponder it.
So be still. Look. Listen. Feel.

No save system; to be played in one sitting (approximately 30 mins.)

"Beyond Eyes" is a little walking simulator where you explore your surroundings as a little blind girl called Rae.
Walking on a white "canvas", the environment is revealed in flowing water-colour graphics as she discovers by hearing, smelling and touching - a visual treat for the player. Some things she encounters will delight her, other things will unsettle her.
It is cute. It is gentle. It is very slow-paced. A relaxed playthrough could take around five hours.
The game has simple controls. It auto-saves at the end of each chapter, which can be replayed individually from the menu.

TAKE NOTE: This game is not for Rambos, Chuck Norrises, Lara Crofts, bikers, lumberjacks, ice-road truckers or chain-saw maniacs (unless you want to die of acute cuteness).

'Nephise Begins' (the follow-up of 'Nephise') is an equally quaint little walking simulator with minor puzzles and items to collect. Like 'Nephise', the game is very short and can be completed in less than an hour at a leisurely pace. It has the same dreamy, mystical atmosphere of its predecessor and relaxing music to complement the visuals.
After having played fast-paced games for a while, it felt good to retreat back into something short, slow and simple yet satisfying.
Meant to be played in one sitting; no save system.

'Nephise' is a quaint little walking simulator with a puzzle and items to collect.
The game is very short. At a leisurely pace you can play through it in about 35 to 40 minutes. There really is no need to rush. The atmosphere is very much dream-like and mystical, backed by calming harp music. It's graphically pleasing, with a white snowy landscape and silvery cave.
It's a short but welcome retreat from fast-paced games and leaves one wanting more ... which of course there is in the form of 'Nephise Begins' and 'Nephise Ascension'.
Meant to be played in one sitting; no save system.

I have totally come to love Interstellar Marines. In fact, I'm hopelessly addicted (but don't phone rehab just yet) and wouldn't want it any other way.

It's a true first-person shooter and deserves more credit than it seems to be getting. No, I'm not going to bad mouth this game. There's too much of that and unnecessarily so in my opinion. Yes, there are some bugs but nothing that makes it unplayable. Yes, it's still "early access" after all this time and it needs more content, but just play it for what it is. It's great fun, whether in solo or co-op or multiplayer modes. Team up with friends and blast those bots to hell! Wargames mode is also a great addition - team up with or compete against other marines online criss-crossing varied terrain. Use stealth or go in guns blazing, whatever suits your gaming style.

Contrary to popular belief It's not that hard to find others online to play with at all. And I've met loads of Steam friends through this game already. Make up your own mind; don't simply believe those who aren't up to the challenge.

Let's keep playing and make this game even greater.

I would describe "Investigator" as a short walking simulator with horror elements.
It is a fun game with beautiful graphics and easy controls.

As a former detective you are roaming a post-apocalyptic landscape in search of food and shelter. You encounter strange and unnatural things and meet other survivors.
The game is in Russian with English subtitles, however, the spoken parts are not that many and most of the time you will be alone.
It is not a shooter game, but in one of the later levels you will be carrying a weapon for a short while and a few shots will be fired.
"Investigator" is about exploration and getting out of horrible situations, with a few minor puzzles involved. It is definitely a jump scare game.

This game was beautifully done. You can finish the game in 3 or 4 hours, but if you are intent on exploring every nook and cranny (like me), it will take a few hours more. I found the story gripping and simply kept going until I reached the end. "Investigator" gets my vote.

What a sparkling little gem this game is! A true visual treat.

A girl arrives at a submerged city with her sick little brother. She has to search all corners of the map for supplies to get him well, scaling deserted buildings and roaming the creature-filled waters in a small boat. Finding all the secrets scattered around the city slowly reveals the past: the siblings' story as well as the events that befell the city.
Submerged is beautiful all around, from the characters and the story to the colourful world with its creatures, blue sea, sunrises and sunsets (day and night cycle).

The keyboard and mouse controls for the game are very simple. No complicated moves or combinations of keys to master, which leaves the player free to explore and enjoy the scenery. And the calming piano and orchestra music leaves one in absolutely no real hurry to find all the supplies, secrets and boat upgrades. In fact, you may well be tempted to spend some time observing and following the whales, the dolphins, the manta rays ... Our heroine can't die and she can't fall from buildings or high places, although figuring out what ledges to follow and where certain items are located on buildings may provide some small puzzles.

Submerged is a game of exploration: finding items and finding the past. It is about saving your little brother's life but at the same time it is about relaxing and taking in the beautiful surroundings. It is a welcome retreat from the chaos of fast-paced action games. It is about enjoyment, a respect for life, being inspired. The developers took great care to create a visually attractive and endearing game. I would recommend this game any day.
