♥♥♥♥ the dart minigame, now I can't 100% the game at all. Beside that, fun!

One word to describe the whole 208h spent on this game: BANGER!!!!!!

I've never played the OG but after hearing praises from friends that played the OG, this game is really good and a faithful remake to the OG. My only issue is that some areas of the game are a bit unoptimized

Personally, I haven't played any dead space games beforehand so I had some hopes up for Callisto Protocol. The glaring issue at first is the launch was ♥♥♥♥, it was stuttering left and right, frames were dipping to low 20s (these issues have been fixed now)

Story:
I really expected more from all the hypes built up from the devs saying that this game will go back to the sci-fi horror roots etc. So obvious I was hyped from the trailer with the banger Lost Again by Kings Elliot.

The first half of the game (about 4-5 chapters) is really good, it lays grounds for the game and such, after that is when things starting to go downhill with plot holes here and there, I find the ending a bit underwhelming after all of the things that Jacob has been doing, it could have been more. For some reason but you wound up in the same place you started at (maybe the devs are a bit lazy). Maybe im wrong, those plot holes could be explored more in the dlc.

Gameplay:
The horrors do get you at first, but after a few times, it gets old fast and repetitive really quick. Gunplays feels amazing and the sounds fit really well. My biggest issue with the gameplay is the dodging mechanic, like dont get me wrong, its not bad but it can be improved so much more. The dodging is basically just like hold A (left) or D (right) before the enemies hit you. I'd personally prefer the dodging mechanic from Alan Wake or maybe even Nier because as of right now, you dodging equals you moving your body 90 degrees and not creating any space between you and your enemies at all. The camera behind your character is a bit too close to my liking but it could be different for you. The melee, well, it's not bad. It feels good but it gets repetitive just like dodging, you dodge the enemies left right left right and then you smack them 3-5 times then you rinse and repeat.

Overall:
I really enjoy the game quite more than I expected as my first ever sci-fi horror game. I hope the devs would spend extra time on refining the core gameplay over graphics more and learn the mistakes to improve the sequel later or something of the sort. I'd give Callisto a 6.5/10
