Genuinely feel bad for anyone deterred from this game because of mindless regurgitated “there’s microtransactions” considering all the items are just normal earnable in-game items; the microtransaction is just skipping the grind and buying in game currency which I see 0 issue with in a single-player game that has no elements of predatory gameplay (like time gated content or endless cosmetics or stat improvements) to lead you into microtransactions, the fact they even released it that way as ‘DLC’ kept it limited rather than some endless microtransaction pit/premium store you can throw money at

Optimization issues are the only valid complaint of this game imo, which even still has not been a big issue for me only some FPS drops in major cities.

Current state I already think this game is one of the best RPGs I’ve played in years aside from Elden Ring / BG3. Dragon’s Dogma is more or less Monster Hunter meets Dark Souls. Combat allows good creative freedom of using environment, climbing on monsters like it’s shadow of the colossus, and class skill combos. Character customization is insanely good and it utilizes itself so well by allowing your NPC companions and world being populated by other player’s created characters (if you have the option enabled). Quests are time sensitive and can fail if you don’t do them fast enough or if you don’t visit an area those story lines still progress- which I think is the best case scenario for New Game+ replayability, instead of one playthrough where you can slowly chip away at every quest, you have to replay and make different choices or rethink game progression routes to see other potential outcomes / available quests.

I can certainly understand waiting this game out for the sake of optimization patches but I don’t think it deserves this negative review % when there’s so much to enjoy about this game.

I don't fear ARMORED CORE VI; I fear the game FromSoftware is going to make from what they learned in development from ARMORED CORE VI.

ARMORED CORE VI is feeling like the peak of everything FromSoftware has learned while taking it a step further; as they have been with each release, refining what they know works and pushing the limits of what else they can do with the game engine that was at the heart of Elden Ring and Sekiro.

Let me start with saying I'm not a long time Age of Empires fan so I don't have much frame of reference in comparison to the others; But I absolutely love this game.

The campaign feels like an interactive documentary where you command the battles, but they still stick to a level of historical accuracy.
The level of replayability seems very high, as maps in skirmish mode have an element of random generation to them while remaining within confines of "map types". Similar to Civilization map generation. You can also edit win conditions.
Empire selection and unit variation, isn't anything super in depth usually its a unique unit for each empire but I think its healthy for keeping the amount of micro lower during combat as there is already a universal unit type advantage system across all empires. (I also imagine there will be expansions adding more empires)

All in all, I think anyone who enjoys the RTS genre could find a lot of enjoyment in this game, and is worth checking out to form your own opinion on.

The best advice I can give you is play the game yourself and make your own opinion, I almost backed out of playing this because of the reviews but I tried it anyway because it seemed interesting when I first heard of it months ago, after 3 hours in I don't have a single complaint and I can feel I'm going to continue to enjoy this game for hours to come. (More detail below)

Majority of the negative reviews are an hour or less, and they don't really set you free into this game until around an hour. Combat feels like a more bad-ass arkham asylum (which I was never very into tbh). I haven't personally ran into ANY bugs. Visuals are all beautiful except for the animation on some cut-scenes but even those aren't bad, just not anything extraordinary. You seem to have a lot of freedom in build and weapon customization and build design is split into multiple branches of weapon combos, special abilities, and passive/active mutations. I also really enjoy how much visual progression there is, in the form of cosmetic changes to weapons and armor through the use of mods. I don't mind the dialogue/narrator at all because I feel like its a nice change of pace that sets it apart from the same RPG formula that every NPC is it's own voice; and a nice touch of humor is thrown in here and there. I can definitely see myself playing through this at least twice to experience both branches of choice/story as it seems there are two main endings, however its possible there are more based on morality or choices.

I've gone into this game without much information and have found myself enjoying it significantly more because of this, no spoilers, didn't even watch all the trailers. I really didn't know exactly what to expect out of this game, and was very pleasantly surprised; so much so that I felt the need to write this review because I'd hate to see someone shy away from this game based on people who jumped to negative conclusions so quickly. It might not be for everyone but it's certainly worth a try, I'd just suggest playing for at least two hours to make your choice then refund it worse case or pick it up on sale.
