I had 16 hours in this game years ago... I bought if because of Sseths new video on it. I played and was confused and didnt have fun.

I recently came back to the game after a video came up in my recommended because ideology came out. IVe since added 300 or so hours (more to come) and also binge watched francis johns series and tutorials as well as other content... Im pretty much addicted.

Help me... Maybe you shouldnt play this game, but damn is it amazing. And mods can fix all your problems by making things more complicated, intricate, interesting, diverse, and also you can have alien races like cat people or androids...

what a wonderful game, an amazing base to build on with mods, but the first 50 or so of these new hours were vanilla, and it really does hold up well.

I find it funny that people think this dlc is repetitive, but are ok with honest hearts being a few fetch quests. The idea is that even if the boiled down mechanic isnt super interesting, the story and lore carry it, along with some fun rewards. And this dlc, and the Seirra madre, are REALLY steeped in interesting lore. IT actually works amazingly as a follow up to old world blues, with several plot threads carried over, and a lot of tech being used in a new way from the big mt.

The 3 dlc companions are REALLY well done, all 3 are interesting, all 3 have some interesting backstories, and you can learn some perks from them, learn their backstory, and help them find an ending in their stories here, good or bad.

Elijah is finally a person you can interact with, and it honestly is a really nice thing to see, you can have the information from old world blues, and the base game via veronica, and then see how he is doing outside of the brotherhood.

The gameplay can be infuriating if you arent paying attention or dont want to sneak around, as there are many threats, traps, and new dangers in the form of a toxic cloud, and radios that will turn your brain to some splatter art. It CAN be frustrating if you try to brute force your way through radio static, but other then 1 area, you can actually guess where a radio is, or see it from another path without having to save scum.

The dlc works really well as a tense survival experience, and unless you are a high level with tons of skills AND are willing to explore all the side areas and all the nooks and crannies, then you will be short on resources. It can be frustrating it you suck at aiming though. The main weapon is a unique holorifle, which is amazing, as well as a few ballisitc options, some melee choices, and a new unarmed weapon that is really fun.

It can be a hard time, but I think the environment, the lore, the characters, and the new weapons are well worth the suffering of your head exploding a few times when you mess up. IF you really dont want to take it slow, and/or you dont give a ♥♥♥♥ about the dlc lore, then by all means skip it... but I think all the negative reviews are pretty biased because they are mad.

Your "emotions" have a voice, your inner monologue is more of a debate club with a drunk mixed in, and also there is a party downstairs with eletrcochemistry.

Honestly, the skill system and dialogue are the bread and butter (and plate) of this game, I'm glad to say they are amazing, but be warned they are different enough from anything I've played that it might throw off some people.

Pick Esprit de Corps skill and be the cop your partner Kim thinks you are/should be

Pick perception and conceptualization and be a true detective

Pick inland empire and be insane (it's fun) and maybe even find out about all the ghosts

or pick Electro-chemistry and just party.

It really is hard for me to put into words, but basically, the game is fun, it's replayable, and also it is unique. Each skill you have either high or low will have it's voice pop up in your monologue with different dialogue options being based on the skills. You can get unique dialogue for being bad at something, and each character feels more real then the generic 2 dimensional stuff you find in even the best rpgs (usually the better ones have fewer of these, but disco feels like it has 0)

idk, have fun with the game, you can easily try the first day withing the 2 hour limit on steam and refund it if it really isn't your cup of tea. And if you can't stand playing it, then please go watch a playthrough so you can experience some of this gem.

So I binged this game, putting in all my free time for 3 days into it and sleeping less. I have 32 hours in 3 days, I enjoyed it a lot, I managed to ♥♥♥♥ it up every time, hanging out with characters right before they died or murdered someone else, so my heart was broken over and over, and many of my in game friends died. the whole time, I had fun though. So tbh, great experience, I may go back and "finish" all the missed content like hanging out with diffrent people, or maxing their relationship stuff before they die, and I had a few predictions that came true, and a few people I said wouldnt kill anyone else and I was right, so I felt nice, even if I am dumb as ♥♥♥♥

Im tired, I stayed up way too late trying to hunt down cultists while building my own, and my boss is on my ass. Honestly, I could try and go in depth with why this game is so fun, or how the mechanics works, or every detail of what I did, but I actually am tired, and stayed up too late, so Im jsut going to leave a positive review and say this game is great, and you should totally fall into the void of making your own cult.

If you wanted a bit more shooter in your team shooter. The medics actually can do some fighting, and every class has something to do. The comunity is pretty funny, at least the people ive played with. I like it better then overwatch, and this is free, id recommend to at least give this a try. Also, dont forget you can wall jump.

Edit: Because I like being honest, I have to add some caveats to my review. The games monitization has gotten worse, back in beta when I was playing, the boosters were amazing, they were only used when playing, but they had less time, like 6hour booster, and such, which I like better, as sometimes you dont get a whole day out of a booster.

Also, they removed the .5% chance of a diamond loadout in basic packs, which I pulled from once, and that means if a diamond loudout is the one that has all you favorite guns and melee and perks, you need to pay real money for a 15% chance at a random one, which is sht. A shame the game seems to have gotten more convential in its release, still a fun game, and still worth a bit of your time, but careful about spending money

Played this game with a group of my friends as a 1 week game, we enjoyed the week even if the balance wasnt the best, now they abandoned it, moved to ps4, the balance is even worse and also the reworked f2p system has gotten worse making it harder to get decent upgrades
