What we have here is 1 step forward and 2 steps back.

Graphics are great, some moments in the story mode cutscenes make you question whether it's an anime screenshot or an actual game.

Combat is what you'd expect from CC2 title. It's literally Naruto Storm 4.5. What I didn't enjoy however were controls and certain mechanics. For example execution of a strong attack requires L tilt + attack, parry requires L tilt + defense (what's up with this tilt fetish? give me a proper button combination instead), what kind of special technique you use depends on the range between you and your opponent (why?), I also didn't like merge of awakening (burst) and ultimate attack, I think those were just fine as they were in Storm series where you'd get awakening option after losing 60% of your HP, while ultimate attack using most of your energy. Having a bar for ultimate is fine considering how energy works in this game, but awakening? Why?

Can't tell much about roster, since I haven't unlocked all chars yet, but considering that Urokodaki feels like a reskin of Tanjiro while using same techniques as Tanjiro, I have some bad feeling about it.

Adventure mode is terrible, it's so hardcoded, shallow and slow. You literally can't do anything else besides pressing A and walking from point A to point B there (can't even jump). Its' pure existence is there to drag player's time. You could forgive it in Naruto games considering how big Naruto world CC2 presented, with tons of things to explore and quests to complete, but here it's an actual turd that was made by some intern. I don't get why they couldn't just expand on the one that they got in Storm series.

Overall, I am enjoying a refreshing feeling that I am currently having while playing this Storm 4.5, but I doubt it will last long or that online won't die in the next 2 weeks. I'd suggest you to wait for sale, this game is certainly not worth $60 at its' current state, but I will recommend it as a great time killer for a weekend if you don't care about money.

I am a fan of TBoI, I spent 300 hours on this game and will most likely spend more in the future. However as of right now, I don't think this DLC is any good. What I really liked about Isaac is that it required to make up strategy based on things that game gave you creating a powerful build to beat any boss. However, when it comes to new rooms, it's all on the contrary. Now, everything is based on luck, it's like a big gamble of both items and pick ups. Every 2 floors, to continue your progress by new path, you have to pay with certain number of pick ups, 1st 2 floors 1 key, 2nd 2 bombs, 3rd 2 hearts, I am not a fan of such thing due to RNG based floors where there is no guarantee of you even getting those pick ups, so you can waste your time.
Rooms and new mobs are quite terrible, you can just enter a new room and get damaged because of slow reaction during half a second. Especially I hated mausoleum rooms, where you get 3-4 enemies running at you and you can't damage them because behind them there is another type of mob that looks like a priest and makes all other mobs invincible, so you just take damage for no reason.
Most of the new bosses are quite nice, some of them are pure unbalanced ♥♥♥♥, especially Mother, which is supposed to be one of the final bosses.
Shops became absolutely useless. In Afterbirth+ there were restock boxes that appeared from time to time in shops, which allowed you to choose items you want to buy. Now, they are gone, while you usually get 1 item from the shop and end your run with 50+ coins.
Sometimes you have to pay with health for boss reward items like during the devil deal. This is simply ridiculous.
New items are quite nice though, some of them are highly situational, but could be helpful.
What I really didn't like were nerfs. Everything on player side was reduced to ♥♥♥♥, everything on enemy side buffed. Game is no longer enjoyable as it was back in the days, now it's for people who drink too much coffee, are afraid of sunlight and who tremble after beating pixel perfect boss.
I hope that the game will become more enjoyable with future updates, but as of now, I'd only recommend it for try hards.
