The company contracted by valve a while back started banning bots and cheaters, but it's been a while so the closet cheaters have come crawling back. Still more players then cheaters but the anti cheat has gone quiet.

Lmao box has a new update according to an anonymous contact and everything is functioning. As a result you have to watch out for closet cheaters once again and much of the community doesn't realize that which results in harder vote kicks.

Expect bots to pop up again around seasonal updates as well since there's not much stopping them from booting them back up. As for why they haven't made their move yet again, that much is unclear. But the age of tf2's bot crisis has at least taken a pause.

Just because the obvious cheater bots are gone for now doesn't mean you should rest on your laurels. Remain vigilant, it's clear that reporting accounts won't do anything right now but if the time comes for another ban wave you might as well submit a report as that's when they get reviewed.
