Early Access Review
Bought this game a while back as I'm a big fan of tactical shooters and MilSim type games. It was pretty bare-bones at its inception (for obvious reasons), but the customization options, sandbox modularity and gunplay were all well thought out and showed promise.

Having tested out the latest update and added features I can say for certain that this game is a diamond in the rough. Existing features have been perfected and new elements like encumbrance and arm fatigue really add to the immersion and tactical nature of this game. I also think the gameplay and smoothness have become far more optimised than when I last played, though that could be just my personal experience. The developers are doing an amazing job implementing their visions into reality, especially for an indie studio, and with this latest patch you can feel things are coming to fruition.

I highly recommend this to any fans of military tactical shooters who want something that feels fresh but familiarly enjoyable. The devs deserve to be commended for their work thus far and I hope more players will support this game throughout the future development cycle, because this game already great and only getting better!

One of my favourite tactical shooters. The gameplay is tense, immersive and accessible. The mod support is amazing and gives Insurgency a great amount of modularity. If you want a plug & play tactical FPS, look no further.

I loved the first Insurgency, the gameplay was a beautiful balance between realism and fast-paced action. The only drawbacks of that game were the physical limitations of the Source engine, and even so it was a work of art.

Insurgency: Sandstorm has improved on that winning formula in every way possible, and thanks to the Unreal engine it has been expanded beyondanything i could have conceived: Large-scale maps for intense and varied combat, mind-blowing sound design and plenty of great surprises (not least the additon of vehicular combat) have greatly contributed to the quality of this game, and yet it still feels true to the original gritty gameplay that kept me coming back to the original.

NWI are great devs, they're receptive to community input/feedback and very dedicated in their work (and it shows). I'm very glad I bought this game and would recommend it to anyone who likes shooters, from the more casual players to the hardcore milsim junkies.

P.S. The only con is the lack of mod support at the moment, but that will be remedied and I literally can't wait (so i still play the old Insurgency too).

ArmA 3 is the most complete and enjoyable military sandbox available today, and a fitting sequel to the historic ArmA 2 & ArmA 2: Operation Arrowhead games. I have spent the better part of the past five years playing ArmA 3 (my actual playtime is likely double what Steam has recorded) and I have thoroughly enjoyed every moment of it. If you are looking for a game in which to immerse yourself in high-intensity and realistic combat (punctuated by the odd but amusing bug) then this is the game for you!

The base game already has enough content to satisfy your average shooter fan:
- A full singleplayer Campaign
- Showcases, Challenges and Tutorials galore
- A diverse selection of Multiplayer gamemodes
- A lively and fun MP playerbase
- A versatile editor which evolved into the amazing 3DEN editor we have today

But where this game really shines above the rest is with regards to the community-created content. Across all the games I have played, none have generated such a wonderfully creative community willing to dedicate time and effort into making something truly beautiful, as well as being so supportive of each other's artistic efforts. This community is truly what makes ArmA 3 such a fantastic experience and worthy of every cent.

I'll end this review with another reviewer's quote (don't remember who) which I found very fitting: "ArmA 3 is like the rabbit hole in Alice in Wonderland: if you go too deep, theres no coming back."
