Let me preface something before I share my piece. I've spent over 1100 hours of my life playing Destiny 2 alone, with over 800 sunk in to Destiny 1. I've spent hundreds of dollars on this game. So everything I say comes from a place of massive experience and hope for better.

Bungie used to produce amazing games, games that would change people's lives. Thankfully, I was one of those people that had their lives changed with Destiny. The first time that I saw anything about Destiny was seeing the original E3 reveal. I remember seeing 2 devs kill that first boss and watching one get Thunderlord, I had no clue what it did, but I thought the loot looked amazing. I'll tell you, the first time I saw a Hunter, I fell in love with the armor design and the dope ass cloak. I've been maining Hunter ever since.

I've had so many great times in Destiny 1, my first VoG clear, Crota clear (where i was blessed with my G-Horn), etc. Those are things I will never forget. Yes, the game did have it's shortcomings, leveling was intense, the grinding for ascendant materials was bland, but I still played. I watched that game change from an RPG with forced difficulty, to a game where I got on every weekend to run raids, trials, and just have fun with friends.

This is why it's so upsetting to see where Bungie has taken a pretty big part of my childhood. I'm at a place where I don't want to play Destiny 2 anymore. A game I've sunk a fair portion of my life playing. Even if I do get on, it's always the same mindless tasks. It's just bounties and mindless tasks. No more going to my friends and going "Guys, the nightfall is rainbow burn (meaning all 3 burns)!" and having to actually TRY in a nightfall. Difficulty coming from the modifiers and strike, not from just forcing me underlevel.

I just don't get it. I don't get how Bungie goes from the perfection that was D1 Age of Triumph, to this. My weapons are being forced out of my loadout. I'm being forced to regrind for armor that I've already spend tons of materials masterworking. What's the point of grinding for new gear when after a set time, it'll just sit in my vault and I'll never pull it out? So Bungie can let weapons worse than pre-nerf Recluse run wild in an already terrible crucible sandbox?

At this point in the game I can't recommend the game to others. But hey, we'll see. For Bungie's sake, I hope this new season and the fall DLC are killers, otherwise, I don't know how long this game will last.
