A friend locked me outside and left me to die. It was the most fun I've ever had in a horror game

Darktide is a familiar but fresh take on co-op shooters. Fatshark Games have plenty of experience in creating good feeling and great sounding combat. Being familiar with Warhammer: Vermintide 2 I was eagerly awaiting this game's release and was not disapointed in the slightest.

It feels odd to create your own character, and I was initially worried about this. I loved the characters in Vermintide 2 and the banter they shared. Knowing that these characters were just going to be created by individual players and weren't going to have character specific dialogue with each other hurt. But once I moved past that I can see the charm still shining through.

Characters have personalities that you can select and while they are not as In depth as Set-in-stone characters like before. Now you will rarely hear the same interaction twice. running with randoms means you'll often get folks who have taken things less seriously. naming their character something humorous. and you'll even be excited to see the characters that your friends have made, showing up.

Combat is Just as good as you would expect from a team with this much experience. their time with Vermintide (a **VERY** melee focused game) has left them experts in their craft. Melee is just as viable as ranged combat and feels just as good with the physics and tight Sound design. swinging your (giant) knife and watching a zombie go flying while their head is suddenly missing feels phenomenal.

though Keep in mind that as of the writing of this review, the Game is still in a beta and there is a fair amount of jank holding it back at the moment. Mainly in queuing for matches, Long loading times, and some missing text in the descriptions.

These issues do not necessarily bother me as I trust FatShark more than enough to solve these issues. The future looks bright for Darktide.

Cant wait to see you out there.

Team fortress 2 is an incredible game, and you'll find few that disagree. The gameplay is mostly what you would expect from a first person shooter. If you are a fan of modern shooters such as call of duty and battlefield, Do not expect to be very good at the game (from the start, practice makes perfect after all!) The game is class based, all characters act differently and have different uses. They also have differing health, This is where things start to change from the modern fps formula. There is no health regen so players must rely on medics and health packs scatered through the map. The maps are mostly well designed but if you are doging enemy fire you can, everyonce in a while, get caught on a wall.

The game is 100% free there is nothing that restricts you from the full experience of the game. straight from the starting screen you can play the game with no limits. although dont have any equipables from the start you can find them quite frequiently by just playing the game. The weapons you find can either slightly change the way the character is played or make them almost entirely different. The game has plenty of customization options Especialy when it comes to cosmetics.

Cosmetics are one of the most well known things about tf2. There are SO many of these things, from just a nice hat, a cool coat, or turning your character into a zombie with a flaming sniper rifle riding around on an ostritch (I'm serious! You can do that!). These however ask you to pay for them. However even paying $1.00 in the ingame store will allow you to find these cosmetics by just by playing. These do not affect gameplay what so ever! they are there just for fun, and quite a few are made by the people playing the game who submited the idea and model!

The community is massive! even after almost 10 years it is still going strong. This does raise a bit of a problem There are GOOD players out there that can dominate matches. You are going to need plenty of in game experience to start playing well. Do not go into this game expecting to be good right away. this game has a drastic learning curve that many players will not get past (sadly). other than that the game is one of the best deals In general If you havent tried it. You may find something very well worth your time.
