Ball goes fast as heck, several die.

Honestly a great party/ fighting game for friends. Despite it being semi-competitive, it holds a lot of casual value as well. The soundtrack is amazing, the characters are funky, and the game feel is just excellent. Lethal League is also very easy to learn, with a pretty nice skill ceiling to boot.

The player numbers are pretty low these days, unfortunately, but this should be an easier game to convince friends to join in than something like Street Fighter or Tekken. This is more of a dodgeball game with the speed cranked up to the max. Ultimately, this game is a blast, and I'd love to see more from it in the future!

I've played a number of survival games at this point, and very few have actually been a joy to run through like this. Abiotic Factor somehow manages to give you about 5 bars to keep track of, and manages to make it not a complete nuisance. It's also a game where I'd highly recommend not looking anything up (maybe outside soup recipes as they can feel a bit too specific).

I genuinely have few complaints about the game overall, with the biggest one being that enemy melee seems to be way bigger than it looks at times. There might be times you get hit while you swear you're out of the way. It's not too common, and in my experience is only the case for about two enemy types specifically, but it can be a big issue in early game. I also feel like some weapons could use some buffing, in particular one of the early ranged weapons you can craft feels like slapping someone with a paper towel compared to it's weaker-looking cousin that hits like a mule.

Overall, I think it's a solid game that gives players a fun sandbox to play around in and cause mischief. It'll make you feel like an egghead surviving against all odds with some of the encounters you'll run into, and it might even startle on occasion. Having a definitive end goal and story to follow through also makes the survival gameplay feel like it's actually in service of something, which further cements it as a good survival game in my opinion.

Craft, poop yourself, slap an angry chicken nugget, survive. This is peak gaming.

Terraria was often seen as "2d Minecraft" in its earlier years, though you see that comparison to this day on occasion. But I fell in love with Terraria in ways that Minecraft never delivered on. The progression has that RPG flair to it, bosses are fun challenges, and lord knows that I've put more hours into this than what my Steam account can show (I've owned this game on so many systems at this point it's a problem).

And yet, despite everything, I keep coming back to this game. No matter how many times I get a blood moon or invasion. No matter how many bizarre dungeon layouts I get. This game always pulls me back. This game is the hyperfixation that never fully goes away.

Edited again, 5/6/24, with prior review in spoilers to preserve this whole situation:

Sony has finally walked backed their awful forced PSN thing. While there is no current confirmation of it being available for purchase in all countries again, this is a big win. For Super Earth.

(Game's good by the way, Sony however... has lost a lot of trust with this move, even if they backpedaled. I just hope the devs at Arrowhead can recover from the crossfire they were hit with.)



(Quick edit, just to make it clear: this review is more aimed towards Sony, rather than the developers at Arrowhead. Reportedly, Arrowhead was against this decision. Sony should be held accountable for this whole mess.)

Several countries that *were* able to play the game will now suddenly be unable to play the game later in the year, just so Sony can datamine the playerbase and give us network "security" so bad it gets breached annually. Genuinely, what made ya'll think this *wouldn't* cause backlash?

Congrats on completely tanking your own review scores with one of the most bullheaded decisions of the year. You won't recover from this, even if you backpedal. Trust has already been broken.

If you're coming in expecting a new fighting game to learn, you might be a little disappointed. The menus on PC can be a little bit buggy (simply signing in took more of my time than actually playing), and navigating those menus can also be a bit weird. I managed to encounter practice mode *by accident* rather than being able to find it easily. And when I played on practice mode I realized this was a four-button game. Not four-button as is the case for something like UMVC3 where there's a heap of normals and command attacks. No. Four attacks, and a super.

This could possibly be a good starting point for someone newer to fighting games, but it kinda lacks what I personally enjoy about fighters as a whole. And the fact that it requires a 3rd party log-in could probably be another death knell for some people. It's rather clear this is a mobile game ported to PC (especially given the option that turns on touch inputs), which unfortunately means it was going to have an uphill battle to begin with. There's something potentially cool here, but I dunno if it works well in a non-mobile environment.

Great game, *rough* start. Ultimately, the game still feels just as good as it did when the game first launched. You're still going to have the chaotic team battles like the olden days. You still will have Tyto mains rushing headfirst into any and all conflict. Bliss. It's still that Hero Shooter I fell in love with all those years ago, still being practically the only MOBA-style game I enjoy fully.

However, it should also be noticed that this didn't launch in the most polished state. Servers were completely broken. Matchmaking is still kind of scuffed. Menus are buggy. The actual game itself seems to work just fine, but the parts around it seem to be the messiest for now. The devs *are* looking to fix these issues, but keep them in mind for now. It shouldn't have launched like this as first impressions are everything, but alas we cannot undo it now.

This is a surprising one to say the least. Here we have what is more or less a remaster of 18 and 19 year old games, with seemingly less stable netcode, more bugs, and an uncanny tendency to freeze and crash. Crazier still is that this game is *significantly* larger than the originals, sitting at 62.8 GB unpacked... while looking barely different from the OG versions.

It does not take long to see new bugs (such as the camera going haywire upon death). You will struggle connecting to even the most basic of community servers. Compatibility issues aside, just get the original version for now if you're planning to relive the nostalgia. If you absolutely must get this version for whatever reason, wait for a significant sale or the game to be fixed.

As something of a fighting game greenhorn, the amount of ways this game allows you to learn it is genuinely staggering. If you ever looked at Tekken before and thought "I wanna learn that", this is definitely a solid entry. Between the Arcade Quest, Practice and even Ghost Battle modes, you'll have plenty of easy *offline* means to figure out your own weaknesses.

If you go online, I hope you're ready for the King chain-grab. You *will* die lol

Oh boy. This one is hard to review actually. I'll keep it brief.

The aesthetics of it are great, and honestly are one of the consistent high points of the game. While some streets seem a bit samey, the tone is never really broken and it's quite charming.

Gameplay itself, however does get a bit monotonous with barely any mechanical depth. You're going to be using the same three weapons for the majority of the game, with your other offensive options being in that awkward "too limited to use frivolously, but too weak to spend on the big guys" area. As for the bow, you'll forget it even existed until it's forced upon you.

The open world itself leaves a lot to be desired though with a very Ubisoft Sandbox approach taken. This results in a lot of mindless wandering from blip to blip because you want that 50% faster kill time to make certain enemies less oppressive. Worse yet, the game will force you to take note of every side mission every time a new one appears.

The story meanders a lot though it does have a fairly decent payoff. I won't cover much on that though, as I think the ending is honestly the highlight of the story.

Overall, it's one of those games I wish we could give a proper numerical rating to on Steam rather than a simple "yea or nay" because I feel like it's better than middle of the road, but I can definitely see it not clicking at all with people as well. I definitely enjoyed my time with it, but I can't help but be critical of it at the same time. If you're on the fence, wait for a sale.
