Changing review from original version.

Having played Wargame across 3 different accounts, I can talk about the aspects of the game which are good and bad at the present time.

At this moment, Steel Division 2 offers a plethora of deeply researched division which have been created to spec. Though, overall I find the current state of the game to be more flare and sheen rather than mechanical complexity.

Though the game has more features than Wargame: Red Dragons and is obviously more realistic than that of the original title. Steel Division II in my opinion falls short on several fronts which are revealed to one over the course of the gameplay.

The "Men of Steel" DLC was released not too long ago, and includes features that makes the Infantry gameplay more varied with these traits allowing the Infantry to be more unique and complex in their approaches. Making the game feel more than just throwing masses of differently colored Infantry types with slightly different guns and more like the Wargame of old with it's fairly straightforward yet heavily stat-dependent rock paper scissors set up.

Though, it is hard to say why we are just now getting this variation in today's world. Where it seems to be trying to replicate to some degree (intentional or not) the overall feel of Wargame's original infantry mechanics.

Along with this, Eugen implements the same obviously cheating and obviously lacking in Fog of war, artificial intelligence.

Along with this, though smart orders on the surface seem like a nice piece of brevity to help manage the front whilst also utterly destroying any semblance of balance in the artillery game. If you are to have heavy artillery and leave your batteries on counter battery across the front. The moment the enemy tries to use their own; it'll be nearly completely destroyed if you don't have transports (THAT ACTUALLY STAY AROUND!!!) after you have unhooked them. As (TOWED) artillery guns at or above 100mm don't have the mobility to dodge incoming rounds to make it possible to reposition fast enough after completing a fire mission to evade destruction by these "Smart orders".

I'm well aware that the increase in map sizes and toning down and desaturation of fire affects has made it hard to manually find and target enemy big-guns, but this practically ruins the balance of artillery gameplay for countries that have big guns and might not be able to afford armed transport to move around. Etc etc, Idk that's just my two cents.

Small download, huge amounts of content, about one of the best games of all time, and a classic example that these types of games can be better than their larger counterparts

This is a classic example of a DLC hog, if you want a good game, you'll have to pay around 100 dollars to get a good one. Otherwise you'll be playing, basically a demo the entire time.
