The good ol' days where companies could design videogames without over complicating it.

Unfinished - This is NOT a feature complete game that has been moved out of early access the decision on that part to me seems like a mostly arbitrary decision taken by by developers who don't want to complete a title. This same thing goes for Age of Sail, only I thought the developers might've been inspired to passionately recreate the era of steam and steel - the most tumult and rapidly shifting period in our human history, but this is not the case.

As it stands, the game is not an accurate representation of anything surrounding naval combat and is basically just a panoramic of ships shooting at each other. You cannot 'create task-forces' that stay cohesive by themselves, you can't organize your fleet AT ALL really, neither on the strategic(overall navy), operational(fleet(s)) or even TACTICAL(battle) level. Meaning that these things, don't exist; (on the map) 'Scouting' (Tactical, Operational) 'Formation keeping' Organization (Tactical, Strategic) a 'Fog of war' (Operational, Strategic) you can just see every enemy fleet to ever exist and know their exact destinations. There's no choice of tactics when you can just see an enemy stack and choose the exact amount (albeit tediously after 800000000 hours of scrounging in your ports for your unorganized rabble of vessels) to defeat your opponent, and you've basically already won.

In all it currently stands to be outclassed in a short manner by any studio that can actually deal with 'realistic naval combat'. I could continue you on but you get the point, it is an unfinished featureless game that feels like an early-mid beta release you pay for. The recent turd that is multiplayer that has recently been dropped has compounded this problem, it shows recent priorities are more concerned with the cash they can squeeze out of the product rather than attracting more customers by making a functional naval sim.
