Awful optimization. This wouldn't usually be too much of a problem for an early access game, but it's been 2 YEARS already.
If you value your money, stay AWAY from this thing.

Terraria is an interesting type of game. It combines adventure and exploration together with the ability to build whatever you want. It's interesting because you can do all this in a big 2D world. Many people accuse this game of being a Minecraft ripoff, but those people obviously haven't played the game much. Minecraft fanboys seem to think that Minecraft is the only sandbox game in exsitence and every other sanfbox game (even ones that came before it) are ripoffs. Sp, first of all Terraria is NOT a MInecraft ripoff.
Even though Terraria looks like a simple game, I can ssure you that it's not. It's a good game for players who like a challenge. I have a feeling that the lack of a tutorial was deliberate so that players have to find out things themseleves or go on the wiki. Either way, starting out is an enjoyable experience. When you progress in the game, you encounter different types of monsters which come out not only during the night, but during the day as well. The fighting style in this game is brilliant. It is exciting and you have to be skillfull to survive a boss battle.
There are a wide range of bosses in this game, especially after the 1.2 update (October 2013). Every boss requires you to use your weapons wisely. With some bosses, it is helpful to build an arena.

I highly recommend Terraria to anyone who is looking for a good game that he is willig to spend hundreds of hours on. Terraria is a game that has MANY things to do in it. Whether you want to build amazing castles or a simple house, whether you want to fight huge and ferocious bosses or fight a goblin army, Terraria is the right game for you.

I used to love this game so much.
Used to play it with my friends a lot on dedicated servers with no lag. Then these "updates" came along and Jagex completely ruined the game. We asked for hosting servers about 1 1/2 year ago and they still haven't implemented it! Shows how much Jagex care about the people who bought their now terrible excuse for a game.
Just go and buy an EA game, even they will be better quality than this.
