The simple review is, The game is a great experience, but not revolutionary as advertised.

The storytelling is the best part. It has wonderful depth and immersion. On my second playthrough i found a lot of little details that i had no idea was there in my first run through. The combat works, there is nothing great or terrible about it. The ambiance is really well done. Night city feels alive, and like a real city. From the downtown, to the ghetto, and out to the suburbs.

I like the Illusion of choice the game gives you, and it is an illusion if you want to beat the game. No one wants to work with a complete gonk. There is a defined story, but the amount of options lets you frame the game events. This feels good while playing; giving you a good story but letting you feel like you can influence it. With that the quests they give you a lot of ways to get the job done depending on your playstyle and build.

On PC i have yet to run into any game breaking bugs. I started playing the game thirty minutes after lunch on PC. The game does feel unpolished graphically and in some animations. Would I love to see it improved? Yes, but it does not stop me from enjoying the game? no.

Now what i dislike, wish and hate. The biggest thing that i hate is the point of view. The game is 99% in first person. The goal was to help immersion, which it does, but the point of view is four inches in front of “your eyes”. This leads to a zoomed in experience. You really feel it in some convos and while driving in first person. I even have my field of view maxed.

One thing I really wish also goes along with the immersion aspect. The city has restaurants everywhere throughout it. They all look and feel different from each other, but there is so very little point to them. In the game there is a nourishment and hydration buff, but no consequence for not eating or drinking. I would love to see ordering food like FF15, with a hunger and thrust gauge that is not taken care of, will kill you. I would also love to see gauges for cyberware maintenance, which Vic alludes to, and sleep. At the moment sleep has absolutely no point. Sleeping will pass time but you can also pass time from your inventory as well, and you do not have to go anywhere to do that.

I would also like it if they flushed out the “after romance.” You can only sleep with your partner the one time at the end of their personal quest line, but can go grab a joy toy from jig-jig street any time and repeatedly. I would be nova to be able to bed them after you inter a relationship as well as a tandem sleep cut sense if you crash at their place. I would be preem if they could randomly be in “V’s” apartment, and if they're not you could call them over.

In the end would i still preorder it? Yes i would. Am i satisfied? NO, i want more. xD I think the true test of the game's quality, and cdpr's love, is where will it be in a year. There is a lot of room for growth.
