It's the best distillation of the Scorched Tanks formula out there. Good game, grindy achievements. Great with friends, not bad with randoms.

I'd like to take a moment to highlight the multiplayer. It's really, really good multiplayer. Though a lot less active than it used to be, it's still active enough to have full lobbies most evenings. The multiplayer maps are solid, the gamemodes are great, and the fast-shooting, double-jumping, no-reloading action of the singleplayer is also found in the multiplayer. I like it.

If there were a game, it would be very clever. As with most nonexistent games, it is not very long and rather easy. Such a game would, if it existed, have quite a clever premise and do more than enough with it to keep the player's interest for that short time. This is irrelevant, of course, because there is no game.

Helltaker is a fun little game which delivers exactly what it promises: sharply dressed demon girls. You play as an 80s-action hero who ventures down to hell to go and find a harem of demon girls. Finding the demon girls means navigating sliding block puzzles and then saying the right things once you meet them. The gameplay is surprisingly challenging, and the art style/music are memorable and engaging. The game clearly knows what it is and its irreverent style makes it easy to enjoy a couple hours playing the game.

FTL: Faster than Light is one of the most excellent roguelikes ever made. Its combination of in-the-moment tactical decision making and long-term build strategy is a great mix of gameplay styles, and the spectacular depth and replay value available in the game is quite remarkable. I feel that this is not a game that is very forgiving for newcomers, but for those willing to play through the game and deeply understand the systems there's a colossal amount of fun to be had.

Papers Please is a game with real artistic merit. The muted aesthetic, deep atmosphere, and kafkaesque gameplay really make you feel like a cog in a great Soviet machine. The only thing that keeps me from going back to Papers Please is that it's not very fun to play. In some ways, a repetitive and tedious core gameplay loop is the point of the game. However, it doesn't make me want to spend more time with the game and it makes me hesitant to recommend it to everyone. Still, a solid game experience.

Evil Genius is an absolutely charming game. It takes the schlockiest elements of 80s spy movies and the gameplay style of Dungeon Keeper and blends them together into an engaging mix. It's not the most balanced game. There are dozen exploits to make the game trivial, and some of which are easy to find even on a casual playthrough. The game can also be very punishing if you don't do the right strategy. Killing agents can quickly get you into a cycle of more and more agents appearing on your doorstep, until you are constantly under siege and don't have enough resources to get yourself out of the spiral. That said, the game's gameplay is more than good enough and the flavor is excellent.

Another remarkable game by Lucas Pope. A solid mystery with deep atmosphere and a striking art style. The voice acting is excellent, and the game is challenging without being obtuse.

Now that the cheating problem has been resolved, it's not a bad game. It's still pretty luck-based, but it's a decent timewaster. Among us still better tho
