Probably the best aspect of the game. Really captures that 80's vibe. More than anything, listening to this in the background was what pushed me to get as far into the game as I did.

Game always has an error booting up. Crashes a few seconds to a few minutes after booting up. After crash, the only way to shut the game off is to force exit steam and log out of your windows profile. The game also can't seem to hold on to it's own patch. Not recommended.

Amazing opening animation and fantastic voice work!
...and that's where the positives end.

I understand it's going for a retro aesthetic but the game is really kinda visually bland. Only 3 slots for weapons, usable items, passive items, AND summons?!?! Circle around a monster till it leaves itself open and then counter attack just to get shot in the back by another monster. And it's not like the control is smooth either. It's rather clunky.

If half as much work was put into the actual game as was put into the intro, this game may not have sucked, but they didn't and it does.

One last note. Dear indie devs. Stop trying to rip off Zelda...like ALLLLLL the damn time!

There is nothing negative about this game I can mention that hasn't already been brought up already. That being said, this game has the foundation to be a really great title. The devs seem to respond to criticism quite often on the forum so at least we know they are listening. Got quite a bit of game play from just the demo. Enough to kill an entire weekend afternoon anyway. You really haven't much to lose by giving this demo a whirl. The controls are fairly clunky, but once you kinda understand how to play, there's a lot to like here. I look forward to the final product.

It's a mix of character action and musou with an art style and world structure of Persona. The game is not terribly deep in any of these aspects but it's a fun little romp worthy of your attention. This was kinda my sleeper hit of the year. Didn't expect it but really glad I found it.

Playing this game feels like trying to play an old late 90's~early 2000's on a modern PC. Like, nevermind how bad the gameplay will feel. This game can't even get the installation right. Just...don't buy it. Don't make the same mistake I did.

Starting with Streets of Rage, then moving on to Gradius, Outrun, some strange mix of China Warrior (The Kung Fu) & Strider (>_-)and finally finishing off with a mix of Phantasy Stars I & II with a nod to System Shock, this was such a great trip back through time. My only gripe is that all things considered, it really should have been called 199X as all these titles, at least visually, are clearly a decade past what you found in the 80's.

Some complain about the narrative but it was actually fairly interesting if you pay attention to it, all without being overbearing to the point that it overshadowed the gameplay itself. At first glance, the games seemed to be kinda cheap but in reality, they just require you to kinda "gitgud", just like in the old days. I will admit that the beat-em-up had a problem with certain enemies being able to completely wreck you unless you approached them at an angle (which, to be fair, is something you find in actual beat-em-ups) and the racing game has this thing where depending on how the drive is going, the bot cars will form an impenetrable wall in front of you making it impossible to get to the next check point before the clock runs out which is technically "game breaking". In my humble opinion, it's worth the $10 price of admission. I can't wait to see where subsequent chapters will lead to, both in the various games as well as the narrative.

Now...where can I find the OST?

Game's got tight gameplay and a good variety of moves. No 2 characters really play quite the same and it's moderate roster of characters allows for a more intimate style of fighting game.

It's not the most visually appealing fighting game but it's far from ugly or unprofessional looking.

The only thing Chaos Code ever really lacked was online and that's now been established.

The only other foible I could attribute to this title was the commical amount of engrish that plagued the vanilla version and even that has been addressed in this update.

It's a fairly simple little anime dasher when all is said and done. Tight controls. Graphics, music, and plot that function as they should. This isn't a masterpiece by any stretch of the imagination but it's a SOLID fighting game and at the end of the day, that's all you can really ask of such a title besides good character balance.

You can rent it for 74 cents right now. Problem is, you can probably find something better to do with those 3 quarters. The upside of watching this film is that in the future, if you ever see a really REALLY bad movie, you'll be able to say to yourself, "Well, at least it wasn't as bad as the AVGN movie."

Everything in your life has been nothing more than a prelude to the moment you finally watch this film. Unfortunately, after viewing it, I'm afraid the rest of your life will have little to no meaning as you've passed it's apex so you pretty much may as well just kill yourself once it's over. The upside is this makes viewing this film a fantastic final request for death row inmates.
