Ye be warned, this is a dead game.

DO NOT EVEN THINK OF BUYING IT!

Ignore every positive review, this really isn't worth the price, it's buggy, broken, unfinished and the devs have already abandoned working on it, leaving it only partly finished and to add further insult to injury, they've shoved out their new game they abandoned us for, a generic WW2 turn based strategy game, like we didn't have enough of those already.

First, let's look at the gameplay, yes, it can be fun sometimes, but everything quickly devolves into a chaotic mess, campaign missions can be unforgiving and I just spend most of my time in sandbox, but even the fun in there is limited.

Next the bugs, whether its units getting stuck where they shouldn't, getting flung into the air or just dying for no reason you'll find bugs abound in this game, and that's just the ones I've encountered.

Ai: Well, considering that you'll be relying on it for most things, it's kind of ♥♥♥♥, driving around in random directions and bumping into map walls a lot is about all it can do.

The nations are quite nice too, but they're also fairly bland in places, with several just relying on copy and paste units from other nations, I'm looking at you Japan and Italy.

Oh, but Maned, it has a unit creator: Don't even get me started on this, this had so much potential, but it's one more things the devs can't be bothered to fix, you only have about four parts for each category to customise your tanks with (Gun, turret, hull, tracks, mg.) so they all end up looking relatively the same and whilst there's an extensive list of tanks you can customise, only about a quarter of them can actually be used as whilst they didn't include all of the tanks in game on the list, they did include officer's vehicles for some stupid reason, the customised version of can't be used. Some tanks like the M3 Lee and Churchil have multiple entries with only one of them actually being useful, so good luck using trial and error to find out which one. Not only this, but the Multi-turret tanks outright don't appear when customised.

Oh and if you think that you can edit all the detailed stuff with the units like you can in TABS, nope, you can't, all you can change is the gun stats and that is done in the most intuitive way possible because you have to type in the DPS you want, then you have to calculate how many shots you want per a minute and type that in, then calculate how long it would take the gun to reload to get that amount of shells per a minute and then type that in too and you have to be exact or iit's not going to work.

Before the 2.0 patch (I hesitate to call it an update as that would actually imply adding to the game rather than removing everything.) dropped, I enjoyed this game.

Before the 2.0 patch dropped, I would have defended this game to the last.

Before the 2.0 patch dropped, this game was fun, unique and interesting.

Alas, no more.

I bought this game back when it used to be unique, back when you really felt like you were commanding a unique alien civilisation with their own culture and this all stemmed from being able to choose things such as their preferred travel method (warp, wormhole or hyperlane) or their preferred weaponary (missile, laser or ballistic). In 2.0 however, they cut out everything interesting about the game in order to dumb it down and we're left with a bland mess that is just the same as the other hundred 4x space empire games that are on the market. All uniqueness gone, everything that made it stand out, gone.

What baffels me is why, when they butchered the game, they picked the worst, most boring, stupid and overused (I can think of at least 20 other space games that use the same stupid mechanic) warp mechanic to keep and chucked the more interesting ones away. If I wanted to play a game with hyper-lanes, I would choose sins of a solar empire or one of the other better 4x games that I have in my libary. Hence why I stopped playing this game, all the fun and excitement has just been taken away for me.

Imagine this scenario.

Sovereign: Your lifetimes are mesured in years, we are infinate
Shepard: You need a casus beli to declare war on us noob
Sovereign: ???

That's stellaris 2.0

As I said, I used to be a fan of this game, but that was before 2.0. Screw Hyperlanes, screw my ships taking years to get across my empire, by which time the pirates have raided five of my outposts and left, screw chokepoints in space!

For a long time I enjoyed playing the origional Tanki online, but slowly it started getting worse with each update. The devs started baiting and switching in a desperate bid for more money, making certain combos overpowered and then nerfing them when everyone had bought them, then they would bring out the next wonder combo. So when this game first came out, I was a little unsure, but I found in it the same fun that I had missed since the old days of Tanki online. It has nice graphics and at its core some surpisingly good team-based gameplay.

Why am I giving this a negative review then? It all comes down to one big problem the game has. It is pay to win and it infests this game like a cancerous boil, turning what would otherwise be a fun arcade multiplayer game into a frustrating mess where how much one is willing to spend on the game matters much more than actual skill. This pay to win aspect all stems from loot crates (containers) that contain random modules which you can of course upgrade by obtaining duplicates (remind anyone of EAfront 2), but wait, before you go for the torches and pitchforks it gets better, not only does upgrading these modules give them better stats, but when placed in slots on your hull and turret, they give advantages in Hitpoints and damage respectivly, these advantages scale significantly with level to such a degree that a new player with level 1 modules will not stand a chance in hell of deafeating a player with level 3 modules, let alone any higher (and did I mention that these modules can be upgraded to a max level of 10, 8 and 5 for tier 1, 2 and 3 modules respectivly). Oh and new players will get stomped on repeatedly because if there is a matchmaking system it is absoloutly terrible at what it does, I have seen a lot of games with much better matchmaking systems than this one, you will find yourself matched with players with much better equipment who stomp you into the ground without you being able to fight back.

This final note is a message to the Tanki X devs. If you're reading this and I know you probably are, please remove or at least tone down the pay to win aspect of this game. When I lose, I want it to be because the the other player out-played me, not because they opened their wallet and got a bunch of high level modules.

Remove the modules adding HP and dmg to your hull and turret respectivly, this is a big part of the pay to win problem.

Remove the module upgrade system.

Or failing that at least add in a matchmaking system that takes the player's equiped modules into account so that newer player like me who have practically nothing don't constantly get stomped by teams of wallet warriors.

No game like this can survive for long with such a pay to win system in place, please, if you care about the logevity of this game and you actually want it to survive till launch, remove the pay to win system, sure you may lose short term income, but it will be better in the long term, systems like this only serve to turn new players away from the game and any game like this relies on bringing in new players and player retention. If this system was removed or at least toned down, I'm sure you would find more players willing to play the game and maybe even drop some money into it to supoort the game or get cool cosmetics.

I just got this game today and I am hooked.

This is such a brilliant game, whilst the gameplay itself is fairly simplistic, it is the story and how player choices affect the plot that is the true driving force of this game. different companions have various troubles and each has their own personality, background and personal trials that they must overcome. Even the opponants and the side characters all have their backgrounds and personalities, this is a game that gets you really invested in the characters.

The gameplay is a mix of ball game and 3 vs 3 combat, each team is made up of a maximum of 3 combatents, each having their own atributes and abilities that can help you secure victory which requires strategic use of abilities and picking the right team for the right challenge. You ccan also equip each of your companions with a talisman which often provide bonus traits, such as moving faster or having a longer range attack.

As far as content goes, you will find a wealth of it here. So far I have spent 8 hours in the game and have only finished the first part of the campaign. As well as the campaign (which by the way has various different pathways that you can choose and can be played more than once), there are vs matches that can be played against other players or AI opponants, there are various difficulty settings, ranging from easy to moderate, to extreamly hard.

Overall, I would highly reccomend this game, but pick it up for yourself and make your own mkind up.

Dear EA, This is how Battlefront should have been. Not that Lootbox-filled crap you're pushing out for £50

Not only do you get the the champions, chests, mount and Ares skin for Fernando but if you play Smite then you will also unlock the Fernando skin for Ares which is something that it doesn't tell you. Overall this pack is one of the most rewarding I've seen and well worth the money, even just to support HiRez and this game.

So, Robocrap recently went into "BETA" (about time, it only took them three years of Alpha testing) and so I decided to go on to check what's changed and this is my oppinion of it.

Robocraft......is a joke. I mean it has to be, there is no other rational explanation as to how or why a company would make a good proof of concept game, only to ruin it over the course of three years. This "Beta test" is the final evoloution of the seething mass of excrement that this game has become, just none of this makes any logical sense. Just how are freejam this incompitant?

First I'll talk about the matchmaking system they added since my last review. Freejam removed league battles and instead made it so that players had an ELO score (those who played league before this update kept their ELO rank, everyone else started at zero) . Players gain a little ELO score when they win a match and lose a staggeringly huge amount when you lose a game, if you get in a bad team, then you're going to be padleing merilly down ***t creek with your hands today. This system has its flaws, but in a 1v1 game it could work, but robocraft is a game where you're in teams, currently me and many other vetren players are stuck at 0 ELO because of this rediculously flawed MM system. How does Freejam defend this you ask? Here is what one employee said when we complained about it (read in an insultingly dismissive voice) "The matchmaking rating is based off team performance because Robocraft is a team game." "unfortunatly we cannot force players to work as a team." (anyone else see the contradiction in the first two statements?) "The game needs more time to gather sufficient data (Total BS)."

And now we get on to fun part, the actual BETA, what have Freejam done? First, they reduce the team sizes from 8v8 to 5v5, you won't have any massive fun battles anymore, no, instead you'll be playing hide and seek and if even one player on your team disconnects or is in an inferior bot, then you can kiss your ELO ranking goodbye.

The Maps: The map size has been decreased to acomodate the lack of players, now maps are much smaller and more compact, which plays hell with balence. On one hand, since the aps are so compact and cover is closer together, ion distorters rule, meanwhile the railgun now has the range to see and fire on the entire map on most maps, if positioned correctly.

The Mode: And now we get to my favourate part. As flawed as battle arena was, it was still quite a bit of fun and at least required strategy, capping the towers, defending them and forming up for a large assault on the enemy's crystal was all rather fun. But battle arena is gone, now you simply go over to a flat pad, wait for a few seconds for it to change to your team's colour, then you go and do the same to another pad and do the same again, once you have these two pads, you simply defend them and wait for a timer to count up (A TIMER! ARE YOU KIDDING ME?). sounds fun right?

Best/only crashing simulator I've ever bought. Wait, what do you mean this is actually meant to be a game?I thought games were supposed to be playable more than half time.

What? You want a real review? Ok then.

First let me give you a bit of background. I bought the first Gratuitous Space Battles and all of the DLC's, I found it very fun, despite it being pretty simple and I liked the challenge of building and tweaking my fleets ships so that I was able to finish a level. When I heard that Positech were bringing out a sequal, I was pretty excited, I thought "hey, the developer seems like a nice guy" (this assumption came from contacting him via E-mail a couple of times due to problems with the game, including the previous downlod link expiring in which he seemed to care for his customers, maybe he did once) "and the first game is prettty good, it can only get better right?" (Oh how wrong I was). Two years down the line and GSB2 is no better than when it first launched, and the Developer has abbandoned it.

I certainly won't be making the mistake of purchessing a positech game again.

GSB 1 was good appart from the fact it spammed DLC's at us, at least you had a large amount of customisabilty and were able to create custom races and missions to suplement those that were already there, as well as this, you also had the galactic conquest and the online content that appeares in GSB 2.

GSB 2 is just terrible, lacking a lot of content and polish with game mechanics that are somehow worse than the origional, combine this with limited customisation and the fact that other than the online features, you're pretty much stuck with the very limited and quite frankly poor content, combine this with the fact that it is buggier than the tropics and crashes more often than a glider with half a wing missing and you have a complete disaster of a game which was abandoned by the developer because it was a disaster.

In short, GSB2 is yet another sad story of a small developer making a good game which becomes successful, but then the developer becomes greedy due to seeing the success of this first game. If you think you might like this, I would recommend going and getting GSB1 instead, it's better.

Edit: The dweveloper just perma banned me for a year old comment regarding the state of the game.
