Did you absolutely love the first two games? Then this one is worth every penny. Don't be dissuaded by fake fans (some of whom didn't even finish the game) or people who clearly were bothered by a game being difficult. Reading some of these negative reviews inspired me to post a review for this game and the series as a whole. Much of this review will be rebuking points made by others in an attempt to keep people from missing out on an excellent installment.

The 3rd is by far the most mature and dark story out of the trilogy, and it enjoyably accomplishes the tough feat of playing follow up to SC. The story, and the mini-stories within (bracer side-quests have been replaced with mini-story quests in the form of memory doors), serve to further cement this in-game world; however, some of the negative reviews here claim that this game somehow isn't up to par. These complaints generally hover around the story being a copy and paste of the previous two; yet, the story clearly breaks monotony with a darker focus on a new MC, and even provides an expansive set up for further stories in the Zemurian universe. Additionally, it seems many of the negative reviews fail to mention the oodles of dialogue and exploration that exists within both the doors and the dungeon. This game, like any other, has its flaws; nevertheless, there is absolutely no way that the story is one of them.

Aside from complaints about the story, some even dare to proclaim that the 3rd is tiring, or cry about the game being a dungeon crawl; however, they fail to explain how these aspects are any different from the previous entries. Exploring the various cities of Liberl and talking to every NPC was exhausting, but it was worthwhile for the lore/dialogue/funny moments. The 3rd is exactly the same and, just like its predecessors, the payoff is generally worth the monotonous fighting/grinding/exploring work. SC was also quite literally a dungeon crawl with side-quests pasted over the reused cities of the first game. It even culminated in one giant dungeon crawl at the end. Did that somehow mar the enjoyment of SC? No, and reused assets and dungeon crawling shouldn't crush the quality of this game either.

Bottom line is: this game provides a refreshing and extremely enjoyable end to the series. Don't let others ruin your potential for a blissful end to a wonderful series of games.
