I wonder when the day will come where TaleWorlds will cease to dominate my life.

If you are a fan of the Ultimate General games, then you should enjoy this. While land combat is still a game feature, it is nothing as large scale as the previous games. Be prepared to focus primarily on naval units in this game (obviously). Don't expect super realistic naval combat. It still feels a little arcade-y, just like the land combat, but honestly that's what I like about this game series. While the campaign seems a little less historically driven than UG Civil War, it is still fun and gives you a sense of progression. Your officers still gain rank and experience, and the customization features everyone loved in UG Civil War is still there. This time, I do have to add, your units (ships) are almost more personal to you than your units (regiments) in UG Civil War. You'd be amazed with how much money and customization effort you can put into them. When you lose one, it's gone forever. This makes it even more of a challenge to keep them floating, and even more of a heartbreak when one sinks. Overall a great game so far. I was also surprised to find little to no bugs on initial launch, so that's always a good sign. Last comment: I understand 40 dollars is a lot of money. Honestly I think the game is more worth like 30, but I can understand why the developers set it so high. If money is an issue, add this game to your wishlist and definitely pick it up during the next sale.

I would be incorrect If I were to say this game had a fluid and smooth launch. I would also be incorrect If I were to say that the trailer for this game accurately portrayed the reality of the game, and did not closely resemble the game ARK Survival. However, I have never played ARK, so I cannot speak from experience as to wether or not this game is a reskin or a DLC. As someone who has been patient with the developers, has never played ARK, and who had jumped on the hype-train only 1 day before it's already 2-time delayed release, I have to say that I enjoy the game. So please take into consideration my situation clearly stated before hand before you take my review seriously, as I probably have not been let down quite like the hard-core supporters of this game.

I have to say that the game is really In depth. It's like minecraft for adults, really. I mean who would ever think you would have to watch your Vitamin A, B, C, and D intake in a videogame? The map is huge, and I really like that each zone is its own server. The claim system is really cool, and really takes the competitive aspect in PVP to a whole new level. I also like the sense of traveling that takes place. On the freeport spawn, there are only enough resources to really get you a raft, and enough food/water for a short voyage elsewhere. Not to mention your level progression cap is 8 until you leave the freeport section. Once you leave on your barely stable little raft, you must find a new Island, claim some land, build a small house (to stay warm and dry), and then focus on the next bigger ship. Rinse, Dry, and Repeat until you have found the perfect island, and the size/type of ship you would like to stick with. By then it's just roaming the seas and messing around as you see fit.

To finish off; Great game in theory. So far poorly executed, but you know how the saying goes. "Once you hit rock bottom, you have nowhere else to go but up". The game may not be in perfect working order currently, but it will only get better and better as time will go on, as already proven by the developers putting out around a dozen patches already in the 2 days since release.

Great game, both in theory and execution. Can't wait to see the community that rises up around it. Also, never lose confidence in the developement team. They truly are God's workers. See you on the field!

Crazy good game. If you are a history buff interested in the Civil War, then you can get quite immersed into this game. The battlefields are beautiful and battle scenarios are accurate. The AI is smart, so the campaign will be a challenge even on easy. The corps and division organization system is a new and exciting way to have tons of customization oppurtunities. Probably the best Civil War strategy game I have played.

Why haven't I rated this game yet?? Oh yeah. It's because I'm too busy playing it all the time to stop and rate it. Please give me my life back Paradox.

This game is great to play when you're looking for a fast paced arcade-like game that will never fail to keep you entertained. Great to play WITH friends, but also great to play with the members of the community. Can't wait to see what ships and items they add in the future!

Pretty damn fun. Probably the best FPS I have every played. The history aspect is quite amazing as well. 9/10 (there are still some glitches and such).

Probably one of the most grossing first person shooters on the PC that I have played, next to TF2. I recommend downloading it and giving it a shot! ~PASS THE WHISKEY!~

GREAT GAME. I i was VERY cautious to buy this game, thanks to all the bad reviews and scores. However, i persuaded myself to buy it and I ended up making the right decision. This game is so fun and arguably close to better to civ 5.
