To be fair, you have to have a very high IQ to play pyro. The playstyle is extremely complicated, and without a solid grasp of theoretical physics most of the abilities will go over a typical player's head. There's also pyro's cheery outlook, which is deftly woven into its characterisation - its personal philosophy draws heavily from My Little Pony, for instance. The fans understand this stuff; they have the intellectual capacity to truly appreciate the depths of these playstyles, to realize that they're not just effective- they can wipe entire enemy teams. As a consequence people who dislike pyro truly ARE idiots- of course they wouldn't appreciate, for instance, the humour in Pyro's existencial catchphrase "Mmph mph mmmpphmmph," which itself is a cryptic reference to Turgenev's Russian epic Fathers and Sons I'm smirking right now just imagining one of those addlepated simpletons scratching their heads in confusion as Robin Walker's genius unfolds itself on their computer screens.

What really spoke to me as a pyro main was the fact that pyro just had such a high skillcap. if you were a good player you could clutch situations like crazy. that's gone now though. now you have to just run stock and powerjack, or degreaser if you really think its still good. to be entirely honest im considering selling my backpack and uninstalling this game. valve is gonna ♥♥♥♥ on me so hard and outright ignore what's important, ♥♥♥♥ this game. who cares about the new phlogistinator, how about
