Many potential players will ask, "Will I like this game or not".
To which my response is always with these questions:
  • Do you hunt in real life?
  • Do you like a more slow paced/relaxed game?
  • Do you enjoy the thrill of the hunt, even if that hunt may take 3 hours
just for that one good shot at a single trophy animal?
  • Do you enjoy games where you can team up with friends and/or strangers
    and have a good laugh?
  • Do you enjoy open world games with multiple maps, and awesome graphics?

If you answered yes to some of those questions then maybe this game is
for you, however if you think that you can run around everywhere getting
headshots on every animal you see then I'm sorry, but you're going to
be disappointed and maybe this game isn't for you. If you are still not
sure then there is always youtube for those that may want to do some
more research.

Ok then to start off with, playing the Hunter: Call of the Wild requires
planning, skill, and alot of patience, you will need to use the terrain
to your advantage, while keeping a close eye on the wind direction, your
noise level, and the visibility meter as well. Sure (like most games
these days) it has it's bugs, but the Hunter: Call Of The Wild is still
reasonably early on in development compared to Expansive Worlds other
hunting game, so it can hopefully only get better with time.
I've had the game for awhile now, and I still make a backup save manually
from time to time just to be on the safe side, and for any new players you
should also do the same. Manually backing up your save file and putting it
somewhere else on your machine can save ALOT of frustration. It can be
really annoying to have mission resets, loss of in-game currency,
loss of XP, and levels. It is perhaps, the biggest issue the game has
right now unfortunately.

Don't be put off though, I haven't had any of these major bugs happen to
me, and apart from the occasional crash every now and then, I've had an
awesome experience playing this. It's one of those games that is easy to
pick up, but hard to master, so to help get you started there are plenty
of singleplayer missions for you to complete, from photo missions to
hunting specific animals, there is plenty to do and will take sometime
to finish them all. The multiplayer side of things is very good too, and
while I consider this to be the most bug filled part in the Hunter: Call
Of The Wild, it is still awesome to play, especially with friends.

So then with all of that being said, I absolutely recommend this game to
any and all, you don't necessarily need to be a real life hunter to enjoy
this game, and with a vast array of DLC to choose from, (I recommend the
other hunting reserves, the Weapon Packs, and the High Tech Hunting Pack
to start off with, when on sale) grab this game and get the lead out.

2000hr Review
Well it's been another 1000 hours gametime, and it took longer than
the first 1000 it has to be said, however I will always come back to this
game, and I will always reinstall I think, no matter how many different
PCs I may own in the future.
We're still getting patches whenever new content is released and even
though the game did suffer through the pandemic, it appears as though
things are back on track now for the most part.
  • Are there still bugs in this game, Yes (MP can still be dodgy at times)
  • Is this game still fun, Yes (with friends it's even better)

    P.S.
I would like to see more priority being given to still keep updating and
patching the game (hotfixes) in between rounds of DLC being released,
rather than a patch being accompanied with a pay day. (dlc release)
I would also like to see the return of the Trailblazer Betas that we used
to see, it just might prevent a few of these bugs from ever popping
    their heads up at all.

Thanks for reading, and if you get the Hunter: Call of the Wild, happy hunting.
