This game is an absolute masterpiece in comparison to the absolute trash being released today. Do not listen to the negative comments as most of them refer to the "wipe every 6 weeks issue". Its absurd to me that so many negative reviews commend the game but simply rate it poorly because of the expected wipe time frame. The devs are extremely responsive to the community (which is refreshing) and have already stated that there will not be a full wipe.

Pros:
- Well thought-out game mechanics
- Attention to detail
- Dev involvement in the community
- Interesting story
- Most certainly will not get bored
- Great multiplayer (team) mechanics
- Good intro / tutorial so you aren't completely lost in the beginning
- Free game, no monetary investment needed to play

Cons:
- Servers could use some stability optimization, beginner areas are understandably lacking performance
- Warbands and hives could use a a few more features for a better multiplayer experience
- Quite a large learning curve and time investment (although supported well by in-game tutorials)

As a free game, I would HIGHLY recommend giving this a shot.

DayZ has gotten progressively better and better over the last year or two, glad to see the dev team hasnt yet given up.
