It's been about a year and a half since I last played. The base building is hot garbage and I almost feel like it's regressed since I've last played, like they haven't even touched it and some extra buggyness has creeped in. If you're going to make a game with base building, do it right or don't do it at all and get rid of it. You currently have 4 primary pieces to base building: Foundation, Stairs, Walls, and Gates/Doors. The amount of harvesting it takes to build a foundation, and then often times u go to build your next one and it's red, then you have to reconfigure or start over. It's a huge time sink for practically zero efficiency to get anything done, and the deeper you go into building a base and have flaws in the design late into the build makes the project almost worthless. Look at any other base builders like Ark or Valheim, there's significant flexibility and forgiveness to make a viable secure build and it's actually enjoyable and fun. Even The Forest has better base building metrics than Scum. If you are going to try to attract people that love to build things, this game is going to leave people sorely disappointed. Overhaul it or get rid of it, plain and simple. I won't be back until significant changes are made to improve building, it just ruins the rest of the game for me. And for the love of god please upgrade the engine and fix the desync, get it together. Charge more for the game if you have to, it's unplayable at times.

i thought you could go in and dig your colonies and manually forage with your ants like in sim ant :( that's the only reason i looked up to play one of these games.
