This DLC will make you feel like a beta tester with all the new run ending bugs and balance issues (those balance issues mostly being with the new enemies). On top of this the game has become much less stable, and I really doubt anyone running the recommended specs for this DLC would be getting consistent frames, considering my own system and others far better than it are struggling (To put it into perspective, I've added 30+ mods to this game before the DLC and suffered barely any performance issues).

All these problems (hopefully) will get fixed, but there are still creative decisions with the DLC that seems to be an overall negative for the game. The new enemies are lacking in creativity for me, with one of them being essentially another Wisp that does more damage, and another one being a straight ripoff of a slime from Minecraft. Along with that, there are new void enemies and a void themed boss, all of which are pretty badly designed, forcing players to basically prepare a certain build before fighting this boss, or depending on RNG to stay clear of the instant death void bubbles. I'm all for making the game harder, but when it's with constricting tactics like this it's hard to have fun. The bossfight itself isn't hard on a fundamental level, but is often way too over scaled and can pretty much one shot you with any attack. What's also annoying is the lack of variety between phases, and the parkour sections in between, compared to the Mithrix fight this feels likes its half baked, which is even further proven by the lack of a cut scene for defeating this boss.

I've obviously avoided a lot of the good things about this DLC and ROR2 in general, but I think everyone's heard a lot of the good already, things like new items, void items, new stages, etc. and while I do appreciate the work they've put into all of these things, I know this game can be a lot better and wanted to share my criticisms from a place of affection and hope.

TL;DR: Balance/performance issues and content decisions regarding enemies and bosses have gotten in the way of an otherwise fine addition to a great game.
