For a game that's been created by one developer, this is a really great game so far! I originally wasn't sold on the idea of this game given the Roblox-style graphics, but after watching a couple reviews online, I decided to give it a go. I'm glad I did! It is enjoyable marching around Britain and subjugating the population.

There are some things I would like to see in the future, though:
1. More troop types. I know the creator is working on this, but I really need some archers and cavalry.

2. More tactical and command options for my centuries. A lot of times the enemy convoys and garrisons will throw themselves at the nearest century, meaning only a handful of my troops are engaged at any given time. I'd like to be able to give independent orders to my centuries so I could send a couple around for a flanking maneuver, for example.

3. More on the economic and administration side of things.
- An army marches on its stomach, so foraging for food and water are mechanics I'd like to see incorporated.
- More should go into keeping populations subjugated. I don't think a town would just roll over after being beaten
once and the invaders immediately leave. Leaving a garrison of troops should help keep the population subjugated,
and enemy settlements should try to liberate their comrades.

Overall though, this is a really great early access title and I can't wait to see what the developer does with this going forward. For the Emperor!

I'll give it a thumbs-up because I think this game has a lot of potential. I played the classic Command and Conquer and Battle for Middle-Earth style RTS games, as well as city-builders like Stronghold. Frozenheim combines elements from each, but ultimately does fail to reach the peaks that either genre can get to.

My number one complaint is on the combat side of things. First and foremost, the troop variety is horribly lacking. With 4 basic unit types, some peasant militia and a single unit you can get by dedicating yourself to one of the deities, there really is little room for strategy and specialization. There needs to be more troop variety, and I'd love to see this come from dedicating yourself more and more to one of the deities. These should not just give 1 unique unit; provide more to really create better differentiation and create almost sub-factions within the game. The AI also needs some major improvements, because right now they're only a threat in the mid-game, and they soon run out of resources and can no longer attack you.

Graphically, the game is beautiful and it runs very smooth for me (Intel i7, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060) and the audio is great. I love the little side missions that add flavor as well as the runestones to fight over.

The naval combat is reminiscent of Battle for Middle-Earth 2, but less arrows and more boarding. I like it the way it is, but more customization for your ships would be appreciated.

Overall, it's a middling RTS and city-builder, but if the developers keep putting effort into it, I think this game has great potential.

The game is great but the DLC policy is ridiculous. There is no excuse to jack the price up nearly 150% unless you're just being greedy. Can't recommend the game until that policy changes; stick it to them where it hurts: the wallet.

DO NOT BUY SHADOWS OF CHANGE!

Fun game to play with friends, pretty scary to play on your own. Getting killed by - and running from - the Mejai is always an adventure, as there is very little you can do to actually escape except to keep running.

Just try not to run into a dead end, alright?

I really appreciate the fact this game has lore and backstory. Finding the pages is a good incentive to play more matches, along with artifacts and gear upgrades. I've had plenty of fun with it, and the fact we're not even at v0.1 at the time of this review tells me this game is going places.

Support your indy developers, give this game a run! Highly recommended.

I play a lot of survival games. I've played Valheim, The Forest, 7 Days to Die, among others. Never have I seen such a counter-intuitive crafting system, UI, and inventory in this game.

When you go to craft an item, do you think it would just go automatically to your inventory? Nope, instead it goes on the ground. Good luck finding items like stone knives since they're so tiny, especially if you're standing in any sort of brush whatsoever. Then, let's say I want to grab a wooden spear. Instead of moving my stone knife to my inventory from my hands, it instead goes to the ground. Then I have times where I go to cut a bush, it equips my stone knife, and my wooden spear proceeds to vanish into a black hole on the ground never to be seen again.

Speaking of inventory, its basically non-existent. Sure, it tells you how to craft a small bag, but it barely holds anything and it won't hold your items like your wooden spear. So if you ever need to equip something else, on to the ground your spear goes.

I don't really understand who designed this system or why they thought it was a good idea. Just give a basic inventory like every other game that can hold certain items without the extra convoluted-ness. I really like the idea of this game, but I can't even come close to recommending it until these mechanics are ironed out and make sense.

In short:
1. Fix the inventory system so it works like basically every other game in existence.
2. Put crafted items directly into your inventory.
3. Re-vamp the crafting menu.
4. Un-equipped items should go into your inventory or hotbar, not to the ground.

I'm curious to check this game in the future, but for now it's a hard pass from me and a requested refund.

If you played Arcanists back in the day, you won't be disappointed with Wizards. It's exactly like Arcanists, and I'm really glad we have this amazing gem of a game playable again.

Honestly, being able to unlock spells without having to do the grind of ranked matches is really great. I can just play with friends, mess around, and unlock the spells. Solid thumbs up from me!

I can't even beat this game singleplayer because it's so intense lol. I can only do a couple hours before I have to take a break because just the environment is so stressful! Always gotta watch your back otherwise you WILL be attacked unprepared. Did I mention I'm too much of a baby to do the caves by myself? :D

The AI is surprisingly good, made even more impressive by the fact this is an indie studio who started with a 4-man team.

Graphics are great, and honestly whoever did the audio on this game needs a serious pay raise. Sound effects and music are on point and I can't think of anything else I'd improve on either of these fronts.

I give it a hearty recommendation, especially as somebody who doesn't even so much as dip my toes in this genre at all.

Literally one of the best historical pirate games I've ever played in my life. My box copy came with a physical map of all the cities, and I have yet to find a source that has taught me more about this time period than Pirates! It's really an educational game that you don't realize will teach you something (I say this as a college student.)

It's just pure fun, ranging from the naval battles to the Turn-based city sieges. Want to conquer the entire Caribbean in the name of The Greedy Dutch? Go for it! Want to be a privateer and sell your services to the highest bidder? By all means! Do you want to peacefully trade and become super rich off leveraging the market? Nobody's gonna say no!

An awesome game and I can't recommend it enough.

Sure I've barely logged any time on the Steam version, but I've put thousands of hours into this on my disc copy. Steam version does everything the disc one does, including mod Support.

Sick of the new EA titles? Try the classics, you won't regret it.

I certainly haven't.
